Hi!!!

This website is very cool....and overwhelming :-)

So i'm trying to plan my wedding in DR so my family can share in the festivities but oh boy is it hard finding a hotel (not in Punta Cana) and large enough villa to host things!!!!

I'm looking at a villa that can hold around 20 people and a hotel (more on the contemporary / modern side) nearby.

Any recommendations?!?!?!?!?!? i can spend countless days on this computer .....

Planning a wedding should be a fun and happy experience....but i'm feeling a bit behind on the ball...

Sincerely,

MCW

Congratulations and welcome! I am getting married in DR in July also!!

Get in contact with a TA they can help you find a location faster. It is overwhelming doing it all alone...but this site is full of support and suggestions.

Happy Planning!

BTW, I am still looking for bridesmaid dresses. We looked at David's Bridal but I REALLY didn't want to use that option. So please share if you find anything. Also do search for BM dresses - I'm sure someone has already started a thread on that subject.

Hi and welcome!

Picking a resort is a fun part in this whole process. I'd say check out Dreams Punta Cana but I'm byass because that's where I'm getting married. Lol

I came across a really nice, modern, perfect for ALL body types kind of dress at VictoriaSecret. com It's their "convertible" dress. Can be worn like 15 different ways so all your bridesmaids can have the same dress but wear them different ways. And they're cute enough that you can wear them again. I think it's like $88. Def worth checking out.

Hope this helps. Happy Planning.

Congrats and welcome! I've only been looking at big all inclusive resorts, so I don't have any info about smaller villas in DR.

For bridesmaid's dresses, I'd look online for different designers that are widely available so that all your girls can go and try on the style. Once you have picked out a style, you should try to order them from the same shop at the same time. Although it might be difficult bc of cost you will ensure that all the dresses are from the same dye lot (to avoid any variation in color). For my girls, I am going to order the dresses from the shop where I purchased my dress to avoid that possibility. I'm found my styles from Jasmine Bridal which is a designer my bridal shop carries. They certainly have the 'traditional' bridesmaid dress but they have a bunch of really cute and def. re-wearable dresses in great colors. I know that might of been a lttle confusing but hopefully it helps! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
