Majestic Elegance Wedding Review

Thank you mekanabr. The dinner includes soft drinks, water, juices, wine and champagne, and maybe beer but I don't remember for sure. We bought our own vodka and cognac since many of our guests were Russian older folks, shots of vodka are second nature to them.

Hey Kamilla,

I am so glad I found your post. I am going to be booking at the Majestic (hopefully) in a short time. I am also from NYC and of Russian background so most of my guests will be as well.

I would love to see if you have any suggestions (although you gave a great recap in your description). What would you do differently, how was the decor, who did you work with!! I tend to have big taste on a small budget so I am really concerned about what we would really be getting in terms of decor and all that. Did you have live music... what are the high lights of the experience....etc... What did you bring with you?? Did you lug it all there? How are the DJ's and how did photos come out! I would love love love to pick your brain!!

Funny enough, Didi is doing my sisters hair and make up for her November wedding but we are on a semi-tight budget so I don't think I can fly him out all the way to DR!

Please search me out on face book if it is more convenient to chat there!!

I look forward to your response.

I am also curious how you get things to the DR. From my understanding shipping is pricey, so it is recommended to bring things on the plane.... However, I was curious if you had any trouble getting the water bottles into the DR?!?!?! I also liked the idea of bringing a margarita mix for the OOT bags, but thought I wouldnt be able to bring food into another country....

Also, anyone know how the music works for the ceremony? Do we bring a CD or does the resort supply the music? Does the wedding coordinator handle playing it, etc?!?!?

Also since you did a 3.5 hour dinner reception with a DJ, did they keep the beer and wine flowing? Or did they stop after the dinner and when it was just dancing?

You mentioned the Elegance Club manager arranged dinner on the beach. Was this something you had to purchase or was it free?

Did you stay in the oceanfront room with indoor/outdoor jacuzzi or the swim-up garden view with indoor outdoor jacuzzi? How did the 2 balconies work exactly?

Thanks!

I am using Phil Steingard... He quated me $2600 for the entire day of coverage and a trash the dress session. I know he is looking for other brides during that time period since there are only 2 of us. My wedding is 3/3/11 and the other brides is 3/5/11. I hope that helps. You can also find him on facebook.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
