I'm sending out my STD's next week and my bridesmaid said that I should not use adhesive labels (the kind you just put in your printer and print off). She said it was better to write the addresses or hire a calligrapher. What do you guys think? How much does a calligrapher cost to do addresses?

These are just your STD...the I don't think they have to be that formal. Unless you just want to do that of course. I got clear labels and found a nice font and printed my invitation labels that way...and didn't have a problem with doing it that way at all :)

I had my invitations printed up by the company that did them, and for my pre-travel brochure I ran the envelopes through my printer. Not technically the ``right`` way to do it but it saved me tons of time and hassle. Plus this way no one had to be subjected to my crappy handwriting. I think labels are fine- plus they can be really pretty if you put a little picture on them or something. I really don`t see it being a big deal in this day and age- but if you really want to use a calligrapher you can find some who are pretty reasonable on Etsy. I used Dancing Pen from Etsy for my placecards and she`s great to work with and not too expensive.

For my STDs, I just wrote the addresses on the envelopes as neatly as I could. However, I am printing labels for my invitations so that they look crisp. I can't do calligraphy, so I figured that would be best. I don't think that there is really any "wrong" way to do things nowadays.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
