2011 Prices

I received rates for the RIU in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. My TA had to make a special request to Sunquest. We are asking our guests to put down their own down payments. However, we have the option to block a group of rooms. If we choose to do this, we will put down a deposit for all rooms. If some rooms are not needed, the deposit balance will be transferred to our room.

I just changed my resort because the quote I got for it was way more than I wanted my guests to spend ($1800). Now I've switched to the Riu Negril where the quotes are under $1500...I'm much happier with that and I really wanted Negril in the first place!

we found as soon as we did that since people don't know when we updated the website, it helped a lot.....people really got that the pricing still wasn't out and we'd let them know when it was!
Never mind the texts etc lol I just got tired of answering the SAME questions over and over and OVER again lmao passports, TA's, booking, dates ugghh that Facebook group was a life saver LOL

Your FI and mine sound like birds of a feather LOL I'll ask if he likes something ... its always mhmm, I'll ask which one do you like better .... he thinks two things are the same, I finally talk about switching the resort to some place more economical - he promptly said, "NOPE - thats why we gave them 14 months notice with the STD!" Too funny lol

I just noticed that the prices are online now for the week of April 3rd - I looked up Moon Palace and the prices are starting at $2380 (Cdn)! I am trying not to worry about it too much, and hope the prices come down. Also wait for TA's to get back to me with their prices...

Ok we're getting married Jan 11th and we are going to the Melia in Punta Cana. It's a pretty nice resort and our quote is $1544. All tax included. Also the Melia is on Transats Promise list so we are watching the prices and our group gets a 1 time price matching reduction.

My TA e-mailed me the other day...we're FINALLY starting to see some specials come out for our resort. I should *hopefully* have a group contract quote on Tuesday this week. The good news is that even if we take the contract, we can adjust the pricing if it goes down even more! I'm finally starting to de-stress!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
