resort ?

Do we need a travel agents, or do most people do all of the booking themselves?

Our biggest concern is cost to our guests. We'd like a place with rooms at 250-300 per night per room.

We visited grand bahia and were disappointed because our room smelled like sewage and we had a rough time getting them to give us a new room. We also visited Dreams Tulum and loved it but the rooms are so pricey.

Anyone know of a resort that's nice but not quite so pricey for the guests?

Thanks!

Sarah

welcome!!! well for 250-300 PER NIGHT you can find a few nice places!!!! I'm using a TA and that's because i'm extremely new to traveling period. so I didn't want to be out there like a giraffe in a lion's den. scared and confused. lol and I notice most people use TA's cause it cuts down on stress and gives the guess and easier route as to booking rooms and flights.

but there are tons of threads that can help more. good luck and happy planning!!!!

Hi Sarah! Welcome to the forum :) We're using a travel planner who specializes in destination weddings - we just thought it would be less stressful to have somebody who knows what they're doing helping us & our guests plan and book our travel. Plus she had so much info on the resorts, she really helped us narrow down our options and ultimately pick our final choice :) Best of luck on your planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
