Hey Jilly, did you buy the parasols?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if you ever got the paint your own parasols? I have been thinking about getting them and wondered what you thought about them?

Please let me know,

Lizzy

I just ordered them! I hope they are OK to use for Mag's wedding! They arn't treated with the oil so they have no protectant on them, but like Jilly said on earlier post, they should at least survive the wedding, right??

We aren't gonna paint them. Maggie is the Queen of the All White Wedding. I am thinking I might just throw in a little color with some ribbon in the handle or something.

Where is Jilly??

I'm here!! I've been so swamped at work, I've had no time to be on here! I'm leaving on vaca next week and am trying to get everything wrapped up!

Yes, I did order them, I got them last week. I'm not going to paint them. I originally wanted to get colored ones, but for the price difference, I figured these will do and I'm going to have enough color on everything else.

I definetly think they'll survive the wedding. I don't really have anything to compare them to quality wise, but I opened one up and I'm happy with them. Had I paid $8 each for them, I probably wouldn't be so happy but for about $3 each including shipping, I'm happy with them.

Sorry to ramble!! Let me know if you have any other questions!

No more questions. Thanks for replying! Honestly ladies, these are the best deal around. When Maggie and I went to Pearl River in NY they had tons of parasols, but most of them had little tears in them, or they wouldn't lock in the open position. Granted they were not packaged and who knows how many people have played with them. The least expensive they had was somewhere around 4.95 or 5.95 and those were only 24". Also, there is a lady on eBay who is selling a Lot of 12 paper, white parasols for 47.95. w/out tax thats 4.00 a piece. Still not bad.

Here is the link, you may need to copy and paste it:

We were on our way to China Town and noticed it. We stopped and went inside and were very pleasantly surprised. The parasols and fans are all in the lower level, along with all of their paper lanterns.

I absolutely would suggest stopping in the store. Its quite an experience and way better than paying shipping!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
