Intro and advice

Hello all!

This is my first post to the Maui Forum. My name is Sydney and I plan on getting married sometime in May 2011 at either the Sugarman Plantation Estate or Olowalu Plantation House on Maui depending on where we find a 7 - 9 bedroom vacation house for our wedding party. If we find a house in Lahaina we'll have the wedding at Olowalu and if we find a house in Kihei we'll have it at the Sugarman Estate. If anyone knows of affordable (around 2,000 per night) vacation rentals in Lahaina or Kihei I'd appreciate it!

Thanks so much!

Hey Sydney! Welcome to the forum :)

Well I have a couple links of some vacation rentals that I had found. I don't know much about them but just came across them when I was searching for accommodations. I honestly don't know how many you're going to find with 7 bedrooms for $2000/night but I'm sure you know that lol. All of these are in Lahaina, I believe.

This one has 7 beds/4 baths/sleeps 14:

Sunrise of the Heavens

This one has 6 beds/5 baths/sleeps 12:

Serenity of the Seas

This one has 4 rental units/4 baths/sleeps 14:

Wai Ola

You can also search these websites:

Anyway, hope that helps!

Thanks for your advice Azulskies! We are in the process of booking Serenity of the Seas! It has a Library, Media room and Loft and the owners bring in actual beds so we will be able to kind of make it a 9 bedroom with a little adjusting AND it's like ten minutes away from Olowalu where we're getting married! I can't tell you how excited I am!

Thanks again!

CJHANNAN, if you are interested in a vacation house close to Olowalu definitely check out Serenity of the Seas, make sure to go through Owner Direct so you can avoid the 10% fee to the vacation rental company! The owners allow up to 22 people to stay at the house for an additional fee and they bring in beds so people are not on couches or anything. It's less than 10 minutes away from Olowalu! Also, if you have a bunch of people the same owner owns a 7 bedroom house a short walk away on the same property. A bit more pricey and less room, that's why we went with Serenity of the Seas.

Good luck!

We stayed at Wai Ola's honeymoon cottage for 8 days and it was fantastic! The owners were helpful, but didn't intrude. They welcomed us with a fruit basket and provided baked goods on a daily basis. The property is just a few blocks above the end of Front Street in Lahaina and only about a 2 minute drive to Ka'anapali. We would highly recommend it (also see the reviews on Tripadvisor).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
