Give us links to different UK based suppliers, etc or anything that we can share.

Hi, from another UK b2b with only 19 days to go, after booking in March 2009.

Getting married at Riu Negril Clubhotel which we booked through Thomsons with the Royal Wedding Package, so pretty much every already included. WC also sent a list of any addtions we may require so we will just be buying additonal flowers for best man, bridemaid and guests, adding chair covers with bows and up grading the photo package. The only down side we found booking with Thomsons was that although we got one out of the 3 dates we requested, we were not given a time and was told we would not find this out until we arrived at the hotel. (we had requested a 4.00pm wedding when we booked, due to reception dinner being at 6.30pm) so we ended up having to contact the WC at the hotel to request a date with at 4.00pm slot and this was arranged no prob's a day later than day the date that Thomsons had booked for us.

Hi Mark, we are just sticking with the royal wedding package a part from a few upgrades, (flowers, chair covers & photo's) not doing any OTT's or place cards, flavours, TTD etc due to cost's and that's why we booked a wedding aboard in the first place. Will be sticking to the first dance, throwing the flowers, cutting the cake and the speeches but that's about it for us.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm pretty easy going for the most part and am happy to work with the WC with whatever works. We're planning on going with the hotel package ( iberostar rose hall suites ) and adding some flowers etc.

I am planning to do a small OOT bag ( out of town bag ) with a few gifts and information for our guests mostly because it's an easy way to communicate our itinerary and plans to everyone while we're there along with a thank you for coming.

We'll also be bringing a few extra things to decorate the tables at the reception as I've found out that the table settings will be pretty basic so I'll be bringing table runners and a few items to jazz up the centers.

Otherwise I'm happy to go with the flow. We may decide to add in a DJ or music later but not really bothered about it at the moment.

I've been looking at a sand ceremony as I've seen it mentioned a few times on these forums but after talking about it with my FI I don't think it would be that meaningful for either of us so we're going to skip it and have our guests do chinese flying lanterns after dark instead. :-)

Good luck with the planning

Cheers,

Kay

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
