The Ultimate DYI Project

We bought our house two years and it has been one project after the other.

The house is 60 years old and we bought it off the original owners.

When we moved it all the walls were mint green with mustard yellow carpet. We had the house for a week before we had to be out of our apartment and in the first day my fiancee (we weren't engaged yet) took down a wall, we had all the carpets ripped out and had primed all the walls.

Since we've redone both bathrooms and most recently, replaced the outdated kitchen cabinets.

We bought our first house together in April 2008. It's a big old Victorian (1900ish) house which was being used as student accommodation, so every available room was being used as a bedroom! The decor was disgusting. We copmletely renovated the whole thing, but FI's brother (who does this for a living) did it for us. FI can barely put up a picture frame, so there was no way we could do it ourselves! Although my parents and I did a lot of the painting. We really did nearly fall out big time with his brother. We had planned to be in by August 2008, which then went to September 2008. We eventually moved in at the beginning of December 2008, although my living room floor went down on Xmas Eve!

We just bought a home. Moved in about two months ago. Luckily, we mostly need interior decorating rather than tons of remodel. We'll add smaller remodel projects later on as we are getting fully furnished. This house is just MUCH bigger than we have ever lived before. Our wedding is less than six months away! It's so hard to focus on wedding planning with the house staring us in the face! Lol

I'm lucky...my fiance is a general contractor, so he knows how to do almost everything.  All my honey-do projects are slowly but surely getting done. Its amazing though how stuff keeps coming up that needs to be fixed. I'm so glad he knows how to fix it all!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
