I was originally quoted $90 a table for centerpieces! These will cost me less that that for ALL the tables!!

Large Vase (10in) @ Wal-Mart for $2 each
Medium Vase (7in) @ Dollar Tree for $1 each
Orchid purchased from Michaels for $4 (on sale) has four orchids on each stem
Floating Candles purchased from Michaels for $1 each, you can look online for cheaper ones!

I will also be putting votive candles around these vases and some white seashells/starfish to make them beachy. I am putting one vase of each size on the tables surrounded by 5 or so votives. On the head table I will have 1 large vase and 2 small vases (head table made up of 3 long tables, a set of vases on each of the long tables) with votives surrounding them.

Cost = 7 large vase = $14
10 medium vase = $10
7-8 orchid stems = $32
17 floating candles = $17
36 votives (from Michaels) = $15
seashells = $5-10

GRAND TOTAL = $98 (high estimate)

That is less than $100 for 4 round tables and the head table!!!

Lovely! Thanks for sharing!

  • 2 weeks later...

Tbasgall, I didnt travel with that vases! I just ask for them to my planner. She told me the resort had 3 different types and they didnt charge any money for them.

I just traveled with the candels and fake fucsia orchids you can see at the pic.

I saved a lot of money as I did use this for the appetizers & cocktails. I had others for the dinner (I hired an outside vendor flowershop).

Depending on your resort, most offer to set up your decorations for a small fee. I'd check with your resort. Mine will set up decorations for a fee but i still have my bridesmaids helping out. :-)

Thanks for the response! I've sent an email with a bunch of questions to my WC, hopefully he'll get back to me soon. I don't mind having some people help out, I'm just wondering when they'll have time since after the ceremony we'll want to take pictures and my bridesmaids will be getting their hair and makeup done earlier in the day... not sure how far in advance they will allows us to set up the reception area.

Shopnboard, My wc offered herself to make everything,, also with all the decorations we brang. This was completely free. I know that is how the wedding department makes. I dont think is "fair" they charge you sth... We tipped our planner as she was great with us, very hard working person, the wedding was perfectly organized and she was amazing during all the months of planning with her mails answering me in the same day or the day after. That is why we tipped her with 200 usd.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
