RMB ladies...question about vendor fee

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies!

I am having a photographer in Jamaica come in to take pictures for our wedding instead of Michael. In september 2009 i emailed nora at the riu montego bay and asked if it was okay to do that. She said it was fine and the only fee there would be is a 100 dollar day pass. I guess Nora is no longer working there. When i spoke with sherika she said there is a 200 dollar vendor fee for the photographer. I didnt put budget for that extra 100 dollars. I went to look for the email nora sent me stating that we only had to pay for the 100 dollar day pass, but my fiance deleted it from his email account ( go figure). Just wondered if any of you other ladies ran into this 200 dollar vendor fee? I emailed Sherika and asked if she could waive the 200 dollar vendor fee since we were only told about the 100 dollar day pass as the only fee. Hopefully she waives it and we only have to pay the day pass.....

I've read a lot of things too about her, I read that Chandelyn....i think thats her name (the coordinator before) was excellent. I'm not saying the new coordinator is bad, but maybe she just needs to get situated in her position. I'm just crossing my fingers that she is nice and easy to work with. *Fingers Crossed*

just an update on Sherika......so far she has been great to work with in my opinion. She responds promptly to my emails, she seems very pleasant, and also accomodating. The only thing I don't like is the new RIU vendor policy that charges $200 to use outside vendors (off the RIU's list), but that is not anything that has to do with Sherika. I'm very satisfied with Sherika's help so far!

I also think it's not Sherika, she always responds promptly, but the resorts policies changed. She has to work within the rules of her employer, she doesn't make up the rules. And, a lot of brides really loved their weddings that Sherika coordinated. I am really exited for mine, just a few weeks to go!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
