11 days till wedding and in panic about rain!

Recommended Posts

OK 11 days till my wedding at Dreams and I'm in quite a panic about weather. I looked at the ten day forecast and scattered thunderstorms every day.

Has anyone had to deal with rain at their wedding?

Marianna said when it does rain it is just for a little bit and if so that is fine but we have 60 people coming down and if it rains the whole time I'm going to feel so guilty. They are here for sun! I live in London and it hasn't stopped raining all summer. We are going nuts.

Your honest opinion so I can prepare myself would be greatly appreciated,

Cheers,

Lee

I think the rain is usually just a brief shower in that area. Do that have a backup spot for your wedding if it does rain? I've heard some hotels have a patio area with curtains for nice outdoor parties in the rain.

I've seen some pictures from rainy weddings. Everyone had a black umbrella. They were amazing pictures. Sometimes the rain is really nice too because it just sprinkles a bit & the weather is much cooler.

You can not control the weather. Remember the Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change;

courage to change the things I can;

and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;

Enjoying one moment at a time;

Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

Taking, as He did, this sinful world

as it is, not as I would have it;

Trusting that He will make all things right

if I surrender to His Will;

That I may be reasonably happy in this life

and supremely happy with Him

Forever in the next.

Amen.

From what I hear, it only rains in Cabo a few days a YEAR and that happens in late August/September. So, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I was in Cabo the first few days of July and according to my wedding planner, it was "raining" one day when we were out. It wasn't raining. It was a 3 minutes sprinkle - to me, that's not rain. Don't worry, there will be sun for your guests.

We just got back last week, and the forecast before I left showed rain and/or clouds everyday. I think it rained once, and was never cloudy!!!! Their forecasters are just like ours~ more wrong than right! wink.gif Our guests had a wonderful time and got all the sun they wanted!

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
