Welcome! It depends on your budget, but great photographers in the area are Sol (Sol Tamargo Photography Wedding Photojournalism) or Claudia Rodriguez (Claudia Rodriguez, Photographer, Cancun & Riviera Maya), but there are also great photographers who are willing to travel to the area!

Welcome to the Forum Annie.

I have a great photographer, but she lives in Barrie, Ontario and is just new at the Destination wedding thing. I would refer her, but since I am getting married this October, she has nothing to show you for destination weddings yet.

I am sure you will find lots of information on these boards though, we have a few amazing photographers on here, Leigh Miller, Jonathan Thrasher, and many more. Just look around, you will find a lot of info on here.

Hi Annie-

I just got married at Dreams Tulum a week and a half ago and we used the videographer that the hotel provided (Oscar's Videos http://www.oscarvideo.com.mx) and he was great. I brought my own photographer, Sasha Haagensen (http://www.sashaphotos.com who I think did a great job.

I know that Sol Tamargo is very familiar with the resort and I think she and her fiance like to shoot there...I don't know how much you want to spend on a photographer since it's a small wedding.

The resort photographers did a great job of other people's weddings while we were there, too. So that's an option. They do, however, post your pics in the dining room for people to view/buy, which is a little strange, but I know if I'd gone that route, I would have been pretty happy with the immediate gratification of leaving with pics in hand, and I know my guests would have bought several.

Anyway, hope this helps!

Laura

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
