Jocy! Amazing job with the review...and CONGRATULATIONS on what sounds like to a gorgeous wedding and a fabulous time! I wish I was around these forums sooner so I could have seen the pictures!!

One thing I was wondering if you could comment on was the food. You mentioned the Silver Wedding Package...anything you'd recommend or NOT recommend? wink.gif

Thanks again for all your helpful information...I feel like I was almost there!!

cristinimartini - food wise we had the Dominican appetizers, chicken tortilla soup, chicken and cannoli. The chicken was pretty decent...everything else was just ok, :o) Edible for sure, enjoyable even but not the memorable part of the wedding!

AngMarie - we only had one child in our group, my niece who is 3. She's was too shy to leave her Mum so i'm afraid i can't really offer much advice on what the children's activities were like, sorry.

Thanks for the info, Jocy!

I have a ton of questions for you, and if you can answer any or all of them, I will be forever grateful :)

Which wedding package did you pick? I sat down today to figure out if it makes more sense for us to buy the most expensive package (which has more than we need), or go for the cheapest and just add on.

Your wedding was on the beach, so I assume that means you had to buy one of the more expensive packages as the free one doesn't allow for the beach ceremony, right? Or can I pay extra for that too?

Can you give me an estimated cost of your wedding (minus the travel)?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

Is this resort kid friendly? We have our flowers girls and ring bearer all under the age of 6. We want to ensure that the resort we choose has activities for kids.

Great review Jocey -- I was married there in 2008 and I also have wonderful memories. AngMarie, our ring bearers were 8 & 10, and our flower girl was 10 at the time. They had a fantastic time! There is plenty to keep little ones busy -- it is a very kid-friendly resort. They have a kids club, so you can drop them off during the day and they will keep them entertained. Alternatively, there are plenty of activities around the resort that they can participate in.

Cristiniemartini - we went with the free wedding package since we stayed in the honeymoon suite for 7 nights and we just added on all the extra stuff. It was $300 to have the ceremony on the beach with that wedding package. Our dreams bill came to just over $3K for all the wedding stuff (rehearsal dinner, day passes, flowers, food, champagne, cake, extending the reception by 1hr etc.) Keep in mind that does not include our photographer or the DJ.

HTH!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
