Your Own children in wedding

Recommended Posts

Yes definately include your son and give hime and an 'important' role in your day. My daughters are much older than your little boy (they're 14 and 16) but they will be very involved, starting off with giving me away. My FI children are grown up and although they had booked to come with us, they are both now pregnant so won't even be there, which we are both upset about but I guess it cant be helpedsad.gif

I have two boys from my previous relationship and I wanted to make sure I included them in our wedding. My boys are 8 and 5. They will be walking me down the aisle and giving me away. I wanted to make sure they feel a part of the wedding since this effects their life too, and after all their approval of my fiance was the most important part! They adore my future husband and he adores them! When I told them they will be giving Mommy away they were so excited and can not wait till the day comes! I will also make them part of the sand ceremony!.....just a few ideas for ya!

I was at a wedding this summer and the bride's son (who was actually from a previous relationship) walked his mom down the aisle. I think he is about 7 years old...it was so beautiful. I know your little guy is younger but you should make him a part in whatever way will be special to all of you - it is your wedding and you can do whatever you want on your special day.

Good luck!

I don't think this fits your situation because it probably works better when the son is from another man but I LOVE when the little boy gives the mom away. I don't know why I just think it's the cutest thing. Definatly include him. By the time he is old enough to know you "should have" been married before you had him he will be old enough to know 2007 was before 2010 (his year of birth and the year you get married). I wouldn't worry about that just include the cutie!

My FI has two sons, age 9 and 11. They're going to escort my mom down the aisle, then stand next to their dad for the ceremony. My 12 year old niece is going to be my maid of honor. The 3 kids are the only members of our bridal party. The boys are going to wear shorts and beachy shirts, and my niece is wearing a pretty blue dress.

These are all great ideas. There we would be no dought in my mind to include my son in the wedding if he was not my FI son . Which does not really make any sense. lol. But thanks for all your tips and kind words.

I am thinking he will be the ring bearer. We might be fishing the ring out of the sand or ocean but it will be a cute story.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
