The Royal Cancun vs Moon Palce??

Recommended Posts

Ladies,

Im having a Reallllly hard time choosing b/w these two resorts! I want to have a Catholic ceremony and both offer beautiful chapels! My initial choice was the Moon Palace, loving how the chapel overlooked the water, and horse drawn carriage. However based on Trip advisors reviews and pics, My fiance noted all the seaweed on the beaches. And being that is is a DW the beach is Important! so we started looking into The Royal Cancun Which has a gorgeous chapel, but im concerned about the washing away of the beach, i would be heart broken if their was construction going on on the beach at the time of a November wedding, 2) the area its located in, is it really in the heart of Spring break Ro? 3) the resort looked beautiful but for some reason kind of small...

Any thoughts or suggestions that may help me to narrow my decision downhuh.gif??

I would really take into consideration that Hurricane season ends November 1 and there are not guarantees with The Royal it says it in their contract. I am getting married at the Royal in April and my suggestion to you is to do a site visit for both places if you have never been to either. The Chapel that is at the Royal is located at the sister resort. Another thing to consider and I have not actually seen the chapel but it faces the ocean which makes it very appealing. The chapel was my first choice but I am not catholic. Best wishes to you and Congrats

So you're looking at November? I'm doing the Gran Caribe, I was going to do the Catholic Wedding at the glass chapel (nothing beats its beauty), but we decided against it, since we're not registered in a church here and don't have time for pre-marital classes. But my vote is for the Royal/Gran Caribe chapel. It's above the beach, and that view is amazing. Plus, if it's windy, your guests will be blocked by the glass walls. BUt I do understand your concern for weather...

Dear, I do not sugguest The Royal Cancun at all. I put down my deposit and did a site visit. The hotel itself is fine , it's the WC that I have problem with. They are very fast to get your money but after that, communication is super super slow to none!!! I emailed them many times with questions and guess what, I have not heard back from them for 5 weeks now!!! and the last time I had to wait 3 weeks to get an answer for one simple question. This is adding alot of stress on my planning and now I am switching resort. This place is hopeless, sorry to say this.

I originally wanted Moon Palace also, but i was too turned off the seaweed on the beach. I am getting married at the chapel at the gran caribe. I have not seen it in person though but it looks just soo beautiful. November is in hurricane season for mexico. Have you considered another month? but dont worry no one can predict the weather- it can rain no matter where u get married really. I am getting married in July which is technically rainy season so i get worried too. But keep in mind i also picked the gran over moon palace because their rates and packages are much cheaper!

Oh dear-I was really considering The Royal Cancun for my wedding-The WC replies to my emails within a day and I have sent her at least 10. We are just having a private symbolic ceremony for just the 2 of us-I wonder if I will run into the same problems.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
