Changes for brides at Grand Palladium Jamaica

Recommended Posts

What resort are you getting married at? As far as the Blue Lagoon, when I did my e-mails to my w/c i asked a ton of questions about reception locations, as having one with other resort members wasnt an option for us. So i knew that a private reception was the way we were going! Ive only heard the best of reviews of the blue lagoon, i did however have a horrible time getting picture but i did find 5 different pictures with different linens and what not....ill post them at the bottom for you. I have heard of the Poseidon, but i havent seen pics!

So the 20.00 extra after the 8ppl will cover the extra set up,a bigger cake, more drinks for the TOAST,(ETC) the 45.00 per person will be the cost if you do the private reception (WITH THE A LA CART MENU) which includes a 4 course meal (MENU NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL NOVEMBER THEY ARE REVAMPING IT)...but you can also do the buffet style although it is a little more money ranging between 50-90.00 per person, the menu is amazing, i have these if you want an idea. there is no extra fees, if you do the private reception outside of the 45.00 per person. You can do a semi private reception however, you will have to have you dinner in the restaurant with other guest..which ive heard has worked out well. But keep in mind you will not be able to do your speeches, decoration, your own music ETC.

I think that answers all your Q'S lol but if you do have more I'll do what I can to answer them!

We are getting married at the GPLH on April 14th 2012.....we will be in jamaica April 11th 2012 (we might see each other) Let me know if i can help you anymore, what colours are you going with? how far along are you in the planning?

I heard of another location called Poseidon, do you know what that is? With the extra charges, $20 pp only covers the ceremony? There is an additional $45 pp for a private reception? Is there a fee for a private reception in addition to the $45pp?

When are you getting married, We are on April 12, 2012.

Thank for the pictures, they help a lot. I wonder why we cant find pictures of Poseidon on-line.  I asked the WC to send me some but she hasn't gotten back to me yet.  Not really sure if we are going to have a private reception.  Our guest is list is still climbing, lol. My fiance has family in Jamaica plus everyone says they are coming from here.

My bad I listed the wrong date for our wedding it is April 20, 2012.  Our colors are aqua and purple. Have you seen any pictures with them, I cant find too much.

What is the name of the buffet restaurant? We are getting married at 12pm and want to do lunch instead of dinner.  Do you know if the restaurants are all open for lunch?

There are 3 buffets: Negril, Mo'Bay and Blue Lagoon.  Blue Lagoon is only breakfast and lunch.  The other two depends on the occupancy level of the resort but will do breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  A la cartes are open only for dinner.  Not sure if you can do a reception during lunch...

Hey Canadiangirl,

I see you've done a ton of research for your wedding!  good to know that there is someone like you to help other brides!  I'm also getting married and was planning to book the Grand Palladium but on the Jamaica side for April 27-May4th, 2012 week. I got really scared when I started reading some of the recent reviews on tripadvisor in regards to the poor airconditioning in the rooms and that would be bad for my guests.

In terms of pictures of Poseidan, I did manage to find one, see the link below:

I think blue lagoon is the way to go as well.  I too didn't think it was an option to have other guests of the hotel in on the wedding reception so that means I had to strike out Iberostar cause in that hotel you need a minimum of 40 guests before you can book a private reception.

By the way, do you know if the wedding ceremonies are quite private or are there usually other hotel guests looking on?

thanks a bunch!

I'm not canadiangirl, but I just got married there and know much... First off, stop visiting trip advisor! Worst site ever! Someone post a 1 on their trip because they never had a wash cloth! Ridiculous! In regards to AC, some of our guest had colder rooms than others, but wasnt an issue at all. Don't worry! You can have guest stay at other resorts and come to the wedding and reception. An event pass is $70. In regards to ceremony locations, the gazebo is completely private. We got married on the beach and had no issues with other guest. The beach used for weddings isn't at the main beach, so hardly anyone is there anyway. There you go...

hehehehehe as BEACHBRIDEN stated dont read trip advisor....not a good site at all! As far as the air conditioning goes, no resort is going to be perfect and if the AC is the only problem.... then its not all that bad lol

I have done alot of research on this resort also with the help of BEACHBRIDEN lol if you need anything let me know and if i can ill help out. I think you will be very happy with this resort, as ive only ever heard great things.

If you do have any worries, what you can do is look up other DWB on this form and see what they have said...this should help you too

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
