Hi Ladies,

I am getting married in the chapel at El Dorado but my group has kids travelling so we opted to stay at Azul Sensatori.  We are getting 2 mini buses w/ AC to transport our guests back and forth for the ceremony.  I am wondering if anyone has any pics of their ceremony in the chapel?  I am not going to get chair covers, but I would like to get some flowers and am wondering what I should choose, for the aisles or the hanging corsages?  Also would love to hear about your catholic ceremony, did you play music??  Starting to think of these little details I have been putting off (they will be big details the day of lol).  Thanks!  Im looking forward to chatting with some of you!

Hey Jess,

That is what my group is doing if you read my above post.  I'm not sure what religion you are, we are Catholic so had to get a lot of paperwork in order here at home first and then FedEx to Mexico.  Just be careful as our religious ceremony is not considered a legal marriage.  I am looking for an alternative but I think we have to come back here and get married again at City Hall.  (That's ok I get to wear my dress again!)  If you want a religious ceremony and legal one you will have to pay for both, our religious ceremony requires a $600 donation to the priest, so ask lots of questions!!

I just got back from the Maroma on my honeymoon.  It is awesome.  It is small and the rooms are beautiful.  I got married at Moon Palace and liked to see pictures.  So I thought I would share some.

HI Ya'll

Anyone getting married at El Dorado Maroma for 2012?

I have a few questions out there for past brides who got married at EDM.

1. I'm planning on having 25-30 guests, has anyone done the option of semi-private dinner reception?

2. With such a small group, did any of you guys still have the first dance, father/daughter dance etc? Just because I think that would be a little awkward with such a small group?

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated!

-Sarah

Hi all,

I am considering El Dorado Maroma for my wedding in December or January 2012-2013. I have two 86-year old grandmothers that use walkers to get around. Do you know how handicap-friendly the resort is? I was considering this resort as one of my top resorts due to its small size. Will the party be forced to end by 10pm as I have read in other posts? How did you like the wedding planner, photography, DJ? It's such a big decision- I'm not sure what to do!! Thanks for any help!

Hello! Thank you so much for your post. My wedding is at EDM in exactly 2 months and I am feeling overwhelmed. I was going to do the pick and choose dinner with mahi mahi and chicken but was worried it wouldn't be enough food if we skip the cocktail hour. Do you think it would be enough?

Also, did you or anyone on here get your hair and makeup done at the hotel salon? I am wondering how good they are there! Thanks so much for everyone sharing on here. Wish I found it sooner :-)

Hello Sarah- I am getting married at EDM in October. I am having 20 guests and was feeling strange about even a first dance. I am not sure what I will do you. I think I might just invite everyone to the dance floor during the first dance and do the same if we do a father daughter.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
