She had the nerve...

I can tell you that my mother would totally ask me all the same questions..

did you get the card?

Did you send a Thank you?

how much did you get?

and think it was all perfectly ok to do so....and get miffed if I didn't tell her how much - she likes to keep track for future events...so she says....but I know she's just being nosy.

I think mothers forget that there are boundaries...she annoys the living daylights out of me so you are definitely allowed to be pissed!

As for ruining your gift...don't let it....I like Amanda's idea of the calendar, or you could do a collage frame with pics too.

I couldn't help but LOL, drawing the parallel between your MIL and my dad. At the AHR, my dad and mom went up to the podium for what was SUPPOSED to be a 'Welcome to the family' speech for DH, but proceeded to take the liberty of thanking everyone individually who was involved in the wedding. Our turn was next, and I had nothing to say that dad hadn't already covered! lmao!

Make sure she doesn't hi-jack your thank you speech!

LOL i'm sooooo sorry lisa but this whole post made me laugh! the only thing that i think is really *really* meddling is asking how much money a gift was for. my own mother did all the same things!!! did so and so give you a card? how much money was in it? did you send a thank you? you better send a thank you!

i was like GET OFF MY BACK, WOMAN!! NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!!

and my mom made FULL ALBUMS of like every picture she had from our wedding for both my sisters! and of course got every pro photo printed for herself as well, including framed 8x10s. seriously? guess i won't be making them a photobook as planned? that's what i get for putting them up on our share site. pffft!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
