Frustrated!!! Where to find mugs in Canada!!!

Recommended Posts

So we ended up ordering with discountmugs as well. Loved the mug, perfect color and just chose a simple palm tree with Mayan Riviera Mexico, 2010 written on them. That was at the end of January. FI phoned them the other day just too see where things were at and they informed him that the mug was out of stock. Did I mention they had already charged his credit card weeks ago?!!! So they sent an email of a "comparable" mug as a different option. It was not comparable at all. There was no handle, ours had one, and the colors were no where close. So we email back saying would they give us a different one we found, for the same price. They replied that they would give us the other mug, but said nothing about the same price. We are now waiting to hear back if the mug and color/font color we picked this time is doable for the same price as the others, conisdering they already took our money. I'm beyond ticked b/c like I said the other mugs were exactly the blue I'm using and now we are going with a black mug with blue font (I don't like the black, FI doesn't like the blue font!)

We went from finding the perfect mug to settling for the closest thing we could find, b/c we are now down to 4-5 weeks until the wedding.

Yuck Jules that sucks!! Sorry to hear that you've been having issues getting your mugs!! I've concluded that for something that should be so easy to take care of, choosing and successfully getting the mugs you want is quite a chore!! I'm just sitting with fingers crossed that my order works out well enough.

I've been watching my order using their online tracker and it says the order is in "Production Control" and should only take about three days there. Yah, we're on day eight now. I'm having my order go through a friend in Florida to avoid some of the brokerage charges and my estimated date had been for delivery on Feb.23.... not sure how optimistic I am about them being done and delivered within the next four days since they're already more than double the time in just a single phase of being made :S

ohhh I am so happy they turned out great for you, can't wait to see a pic.
best way to upload a pic, go to photobucket (free account) upload your pic there, once you've done that go to 'share link' and fine the 'img' code, copy and past in here.
Good luck!

Hi all,

Update on our mug situation... we got an email today saying that they actually got our original mugs in from another supplier so they will be sent off to get our design put on and shipped. We have a tracking number now too. So happy to find out we get our original mugs!

I guess I don't mind discountmugs so much anymore, they are back in my good books I guess :)

Good for you, getting the ones you want! I don't understand how a company can actually charge your credit card and then tell you that the product you want is out of stock, but "here's something close!" My FI hates listening to me dealing with people in situations like this on the phone. I don't let it go! Don't even get me started on the Bell Canada people! lol.

A side note, for anyone looking for plastic CUPS with marriage sayings on them, I found some cute ones at Michael's last night on clearance. $4.99 for a ten pack. They are a nice size for resort drinks too, not too big, not too small. They have white ones with EAT DRINK AND BE MARRIED in teal, white ones with I DO in black I believe and red ones with Two Hearts, One Love. Works out to 50 cents a cup!

And another side note, today, Michaels is having a 20 % off everything Including sale items sale...you need a coupon but they had lots at the store.

Okay so here's the official news... it is cheaper to pay for both the shipping and brokerage fees that discountmugs charges than it is to have the boxes sent (free shipping) to someone in the US and have them sent here. Or at least if you have them sent from farther in the southern US that is!

I had my mugs go through a friend and because of the weight of them (~18lbs/box of 25mugs) it ended up costing me more in the end. I guess that's my punishment for trying to skip out on brokerage fees!! I assume that since d.mugs ships SO much out they get a really good shipping rate.

Oh, man, that sucks! I would have thought that your way would be cheaper, too. I did notice when I ordered my mugs that the shipping from discount mugs was pretty cheap- it was much cheaper than 4imprint even though the mugs were coming from the states.

I just got an email that my mugs were shipped! They took a little while in production because I asked for a proof, and then I had to pick a different font colour because the fuchsia I'd picked didn't show up well against black mugs. I can't wait to see what they look like!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
