Change of plans, destination unknown here I come!

Hello everyone!

My name is Stephanie and I am from Orlando, FL. My fiance and I were originally going to get married in my parents back yard in NJ with around 65 people on September 18, 2010. Turns out this was too much stress for my parents and I just found out over Christmas that it isn't going to happen. So after freaking out, my fiance and I figured the next best option was for a destination wedding. So far we would like to keep the date (since we already told people to set aside that weekend) and have been looking at Jamaica, Bahamas, and Mexico (they seem to be the cheapest places our guests from NJ and FL can fly to). There are so many resorts to choose from, that why I joined this forum. I am looking for the most stress free options, resorts with planners and packages that include everything you could think of (I get overwhelmed with details). My budget is around $4,000. If you have any suggestions let me know!!!

Welcome!! You've come to the right place. If you have a strict budget you may want to look into the all inclusive resorts that have good wedding packages. Some of the basic packages are free just as long as you can guarantee a certain number of guests. Jamaica , DR and Mexico are very reasonable and there are many brides here that have married in these locations.

Best Wishes!

Congrats on your new plans! Welcome to the forum! Is that $4000 going to the ceremony/reception? That can go a long way with the wedding packages that are offered at different resorts. Both Jamaica and Mexico All Inclusive Resorts have wonderful packages that will suit your budget! Browse the forum, and the resorts' sites, and I'm sure you and your fiance will find a place that suits your personalities and taste! have fun planning!

Welcome!! I am getting married September 18, 2010 in Mexico!!! You have come to the right place. We decided on The Palace resorts for the free wedding. We are staying for 10 days, Its $3180.00 for all 10 days. We have not purchased flights. Not bad. Its all inclusive and the wedding id free. I am very excited. I have been to Palace Resorts before and Love it!

hi and welcome!

if you really want to stick with that budget, you may want to get a package from an all inclusive and don't go over the amount of people they allow for a wedding package.

I've been researching and I found out that if you want great photography and some other things, you are going to spend way more than $4,000.

But, it can be done. You may have to cut some corners.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
