Hi Everyone!

I have a friend that is considering getting married in Costa Rica (or Riviera Maya). Can you recommend a great boutique-ish hotel for about 100 guests? The hotel would ideally host the wedding guests for the week and also be the location for the wedding. She is looking for a place that's little more intimate than a large all-inclusive, but also has a good rep for hosting weddings. Any suggests would be very welcome!!!

Thanks!

Hello Mel&B,

Capitan Suizo is one of the nicest boutique hotels in Tamarindo. Sugar Beach Hotel is perfect for a wedding your size and it is really private (located between rocky coves) north of Flamingo beach. Arenas del Mar in Manuel Antonio is a gorgeous boutique hotel (a little more pricey). Give me an idea of you budget and I will be glad to help.

Cheers,

I've been looking into this tooo.  Thought Arenas Del Mar cut off parties at 80 or so.  I'm looking for the Manuel Antonio area and so far have only seen Costa Verde's Event Center, which might be too big.  Does anyone know another place in Manuel Antonio that can hold around 85+ people with room for a dance floor?

We were afraid the Event Center would be too big for our 72 guest wedding but it was perfect! The dance floor was the just-right size and the band set up in the front (not on the band platform) so the space felt filled perfectly.

We used Sylvia from Costa Rica Paradise wedding, El Velo for photography, Los Mojitos for live reception music, and Karahe for ceremony venue.  We stayed in Casa Paraiso and arranged/paid for transportation for our guests to the ceremony from all their villas and hotels and between ceremony and reception.  Many of guests stayed in villas and loved them.

Just realized I'm adding an update to my own question from before, but had such a hard time with every decision and scoured this website and others for info, so hopefully this update on our August 2012 wedding will help others.  We wouldn't change a thing and highly recommend all our vendors - good value and great outcomes!

My wife and I just got married at the Tamarindo Diria and had about 80 guests from 5 different countries. It was fantastic, check our review on Tripadvisor for more details. We also had El Velo as our photographers/videographers and they were outstanding, far surpassing our expectations

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
