Hi Everyone,

This is Winnie and Brian and we are getting married in Playa Del Carmen either on March 22 or 23rd. Just decided to go for it and we are now starting to plan a small 20-25 person wedding!! I know a bit crazy. Everyone is staying at private homes so we are going to organize a wedding not at a resort. Does anyone have any leads as to good locations to have a wedding and reception in Playa Del Carmen?

Thanks,

Winnie and Brian

OMG, congrats! And what a great idea to have everyone stayin private homes! I thought of doing that in Cabo, when we were deciding on the location...

There's tons of advice and feedback here on this forum, so you'll see a bunch of locations in the wedding reviews and you might find yourself torn between a few places because there are so many. One of the more popular is The Royal Playa Del Carmen, since it's in the middle of downtown. Or there are so many others a little further, more secluded... but since you're not staying at the hotels, you may want to contact the WC's at the hotels to get more info and availability.

Have fun planning!

Congratulations Winnie and Brian! How exciting! In just 8 weeks, you two will be joined by the people who mean the most to you in a beautiful setting to celebrate. There are so many wonderful places for your ceremony and reception around the Playa del Carmen area. A place that is about 20 minutes south of town to consider is Blucacao. To get a feeling for the place, I'm including a slideshow from a wedding I photographed there. They had a Mayan wedding so you'll get to see what that is like too. Deneé + Jamie

Another possibility if you want to say right in town, is the beach at the Blue Parrott.

Whatever you decide will be wonderful!!! I wish you both much happiness.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
