Las Caletas: Table Setting Ideas???

Recommended Posts

I'm getting married at Las Caletas this October and I'm soooo excited. It's great to hear such amazing reviews from everyone and the pictures you posted are awesome! I'm trying to decide how to decorate the tables for the reception and wanted to know if anyone had pictures from their Las Caletas wedding they could share or websites where you were able to get some good ideas?

We've also decided to have a trio band and a DJ - can anyone tell me a little about who they used and how the music was?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Heather! I was just married at Las Caletas this June - just over a month ago! I don't have my pictures back yet, but my photographer (Leigh Miller) did put together a slideshow for me - and you can look at that and kind of see what we had. I think the table shots start around slide #89. Keep in mind that I really did very little - I did bring the aqua sea glass you see, but the rest Nicole provided (other than the placecards/fans).

I also did the Trio and DJ - both were very good. I didn't really hear the Trio much since we just had them through the arrival to the cocktail hour - but everyone else said they were good!

Let me know if you have any other questions! I'm so excited to see another Las Caletas bride on here! When is your wedding date?

Ann- Thanks for replying to my message so quicly! We're getting married on Oct 26th.

Ok I have a lot of quesitons for you.

First - Your pictures are beautiful. It's great to see actual pictures of weddings held at Las Caletas.

I thought about doing the fans too. Where did you buy them? And how do they set up the table cards and seating cards?

Also where did you get your idea for the table setting - did you show Nicole pictures? I've been putting together pics for her, but I know that they are slightly limited on what they can do b/c they have to boat everything in.

Finally -Did you change out of your dress before the boat ride back?

Thanks for any feedback or information you can provide!!

First - Your pictures are beautiful. It's great to see actual pictures of weddings held at Las Caletas. Thank you! I have to give all of the credit to Leigh, my fabulous photographer! When I first came across Las Caletas, I couldn't find any pictures - so I totally know how you feel! There are a handful ofo girls that have been married there on this forum, so look around - and/or let me know if you need help finding pictures to check out. Have you seen my non-pro pictures or the other girls' weddings?

I thought about doing the fans too. Where did you buy them? And how do they set up the table cards and seating cards? I actually bought them off of another girl on this forum - but I think she bought them at Oriental Trading Co. - they have lots of good stuff! I just gave Nicole the fans w/no instructions ... and she set it up all on her own. Oh, I also had a photo mat as a guest book for people to sign, I think they were on the table together. Let me see if I can find a picture from my friends' pictures ...

Hmmm - I thought I had a better picture, but here is one - you can see the table that has the photo mat and then 2 large bowl like things w/all of the fans. Maybe the picture was on my video?

Also where did you get your idea for the table setting - did you show Nicole pictures? I did show her pictures. I basically showed her pictures of flowers submerged in water, and w/rocks - stuff like that - I like simple. Then I just let her take it from there. At the last minute I told her I wanted the tan table runners - they have a few colors to choose from. Oh yea, then I gave her the aqua sea glass to do something with - I think she just scattered it around the vases. I've been putting together pics for her, but I know that they are slightly limited on what they can do b/c they have to boat everything in. Are you thinking you want something large, or something? For the most part, they can do the typical centerpice stuff as far as I know.

Finally -Did you change out of your dress before the boat ride back? I did, but mainly because I wasn't feeling well at all, otherwise I probably would have stayed in my dress. I was a little warm, but not unbearable had I felt better. I changed right before the firedancers came - that's why I am in a different dress in those pictures! :)

Thanks for any feedback or information you can provide!!

Oh where to start!? lol Have you read my review? If not, that might be helpful - or the reviews of the other girls on here. let me know if you want help finding those.

Heather
I'm curious - how many people are you having? Are you doing the deluxe or intimate ceremony? Who will you be using as your photographer?

I shouldn't be asking you questions! lol

In the end, you have NOTHING to worry about. I could have showed up the day of the wedding w/o planning a thing and I think I would have been just as happy. That place is simply magical.

We're having about 65 people and we're doing the deluxe wedding package. I'm using a photographer from Long Beach Ca. He shot a wedding at Las Caletas once and found him through some links that Nicole forwarded to me. He's a little expensive b/c he has to travel but I didn't want to skimp on my pictures.

Here's his info - in case other Las Caletas brides view this thread...

I also found a photographer, Cooper Carras, through this forum. He's done a lot of weddings in PV - he also was offering 10% off for Las Caletas brides. I really liked his work and thought his pictures were awesome but I had already booked my other photographer. His website is: Cooper Carras - Destination wedding and fashion photographer

You've been a great help. Thanks for responding to my thread! I can't wait to post my pics of our wedding!

I belive I've seen Chris' work when I was first looking at Las Caletas as well - my photog is from the San Diego area too. And I believe Cooper is a part of this forum, interesting about the 10%.

Just let us know if you have any other questions!

ohh, Ann, I never noticed the sea glass before. I really like it!!! Did you get it on ebay?

So Nicole did you specify what you wanted for your center pieces? Also are those considered the small or large ones? - scratch that first question. Just saw you told her submerged flowers. So what did you pay for those? If you don't mind rolleyes.gif

here are the pictures i sent her (attached), and then gave her the sea glass - and she went from there!

I just noticed a line in my contract that says:

Small Table Centerpieces 10 @ $35 = $350

i did get the sea glass off of ebay. here is the link to the seller: eBay: Beach Glass / Sea Glass Aqua/Teal Color BULK 1LB Great (item 230152785308 end time Aug-14-07 18:22:37 PDT)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
