    Hi ladies,

We don't want to have to travel with a bulky carseat that will only be used twice down there. We were looking up the option of taking a shuttle to the airport here that will hold onto our carseat for us until we return home that way we will have it in the states but don't have to lug it to the Dominican.

Has anyone else just held their child on their lap for the transfer from the airport to the hotel in the Dominican?? I know it might not be the safest option but is it legal and has it been done before by anyone here?

Our son will be 20 months old.

If you do find the answer, I'd really be interested in knowing as a couple of my guests are likely to bring their babies.

I was in Cancun in Dec 09, and we never bought our transfers through our TA, so we just payed for the shuttle when we got down there, there was a couple who was trying to get on the same shuttle, they had a child with them id say about 3 years old, they wouldnt allow them onto the shuddle, and im not positive what the outcome was cause the van had already left. I do know that thier is a company that rents and ships to wherever you are, I know they 100% do wheelchairs, and I would assume carseats, actually I think they do 'cause I know my gf has carseats shipped to fl whenever she goes. Let me know if you want the name, ill ask my father.
        He asked, I said YES!!! 1 <3 21 <3 04 - 5 <3 13 <3 08

I'm interested to know this too. I got transfers through my travel agent, and I believe she said that 3 and under were fine sitting on your lap (my daughter will be 2 1/2 when we go down). But i'm not really looking forward to lugging the carseat everywhere, along with all the luggage, wedding dress, etc. But I also want what will be the safest option for my daughter! LEt me know if you find out anything

I actually haven't found anything as of yet :-( I think we are going to have the airport shuttle here in the US hold onto our carseat for us. I heard from many different people that they just held their children on their laps....so we will see :-)
