Now I really wished we booked 10 days. We are paid in full already though and already have vacation time booked. Maybe we'll just take a last minute deal somewhere over the winter as our alone time.

Ten days is a good time for the trip overall. Some couples stay another week after the wedding for their honeymoon. It's up to you and your schedule, but try to take the time now and enjoy yourselves. :)

I agree that 10 days is a good idea. I didn't know I could arrange this with my TA but I haven't really started yet. We plan to arrive with our guests because some will not know each other or that their part of the same group. I love my family but I don't want to feel like I need to host them for my entire trip so I'd like to stay longer than everyone.

We actually have family in the Dominican Republic, so we will arrive to the resort 3 days before the wedding and stay for 6 nights in total. Then we will go visit family for the next week, we have 14 days :)

We too had originally booked 1 week, but just like you was thinking the same thing, We leave 3 days after our wedding and a lot of the guest would be there. So we decided to add an extra week, so we'll get a full 6 days with no guest for our honeymoon.
I say if you have the extra cash in your budged go for it!!!
I personally couldn't get a 10 day trip (which is ideal) I mean I could have but it was $1000 p/p more then a 14 day package,so we went with that.

We are stying for 13 days... Our first night there we are alone and then family starts to arrive. After everyone leaves, we still have 3 nights alone to relax and enjoy as husband and wife!!!!

                I arrive Tuesday morning
                Wedding on Saturday
Leaving late afternoon on the following Wednesday

So its 9 days and 8 nights which I think is plenty.

We are staying 2 weeks..we have travelled to the caribbean a lot and have found that one week passes by too quickly (especially if you are busy with the wedding stuff for half of that time).

We have approx. 40 guests attending (so far) and 10 of us in total are staying the 2 weeks; Im not big on 'alone' time :)

We're staying 10 days in Punta Cana. We're going down on Saturday and leaving the following Tuesday. Everyone else is coming Wed-Sun for our wedding which is on Friday. So, we're having a prewedding honeymoon...We figured we could get down there get everything situated for the wedding and enjoy a couple of days to ourselves.
