Now I really wished we booked 10 days. We are paid in full already though and already have vacation time booked. Maybe we'll just take a last minute deal somewhere over the winter as our alone time.

I agree that 10 days is a good idea. I didn't know I could arrange this with my TA but I haven't really started yet. We plan to arrive with our guests because some will not know each other or that their part of the same group. I love my family but I don't want to feel like I need to host them for my entire trip so I'd like to stay longer than everyone.

  • 4 weeks later...

We too had originally booked 1 week, but just like you was thinking the same thing, We leave 3 days after our wedding and a lot of the guest would be there. So we decided to add an extra week, so we'll get a full 6 days with no guest for our honeymoon.

I say if you have the extra cash in your budged go for it!!!

I personally couldn't get a 10 day trip (which is ideal) I mean I could have but it was $1000 p/p more then a 14 day package,so we went with that.

We are staying 2 weeks..we have travelled to the caribbean a lot and have found that one week passes by too quickly (especially if you are busy with the wedding stuff for half of that time).

We have approx. 40 guests attending (so far) and 10 of us in total are staying the 2 weeks; Im not big on 'alone' time :)

xoxo

We're staying 10 days in Punta Cana. We're going down on Saturday and leaving the following Tuesday. Everyone else is coming Wed-Sun for our wedding which is on Friday. So, we're having a prewedding honeymoon...We figured we could get down there get everything situated for the wedding and enjoy a couple of days to ourselves.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
