Majestic Colonial Info

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies!  My name is Jess and my fiance and I are thinking about getting married at the Majestic Colonial in June 2013.  I know we have plenty of time to start planning and decide on a resort but I need a little bit of help...

I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to get married here... however, my fiance is a little concerned about how much it will cost our guests to join us and stay for the week.  If ANYONE has info on what group rates ended up costing for you & your guests that would be very helpful.  I am trying my hardest to convince him... so some solid numbers would be helpful. :)

We also have a few of our nieces and nephews coming... do kids under any certain age stay free here?  The oldest kid there would be 6.

Thanks for all the help and I can't wait to here what all of you have to say!

~Jess

jess4u - My fiance and I have been looking at the Majestic as well. We will be getting married on 12/12/12 and the rates we were quoted for the lead in room (junior suite) was 1480.00 for 7 nights/8days and that is for 2 people but no airfare. I will be having my grandson there as well and I believe as long as the child is under 2 there is no charge. Above that age I am not sure if they charge full price or not.We are trying to keep our guests rates per person with airfare for the 7 nights at about 1500. I know some people think that is still pricey but when you take into consideration it includes all your food and beverages for the week it actually is a great rate. Cruises end up costing you more and then you still have to pay for your alcohol.

Asiamarie-

One more question I thought of... can people book less than 7 nights and still get that same rate only pro-rated or is that rate only if they book 7 nights? Thanks for answering all of these questions!  It's so nice being able to ask women who have already gone through this stuff.  Since my fiance and I aren't getting married for 2 more years, the Majestic Colonial won't start booking for 2013 until January.  I am trying to get all my research done now that way when January comes around I can request the day we are looking at and get things in motion.

I used a travel agent and I was told that if people stayed for a shorter amount of time that they would be adjusted. You also are able to book further ahead of time if you use a travel agent. Because our date is 12/12/12 and we talked to the travel agent and had rates in the beginning of March. I also was able to book my wedding date in March with Majestic. You should already be able to do that as well. We have everything all set but are still unsure if we are staying at the Majestic not because we dont't like it but because we might be able to have a family friend get better rates for us another place. I have some information from the wedding coordinator at the Majestic if you would like me to send the information to you just give me your email address.

Hope this helps

Anyone have a picture of the basic ceremony site?  I have been given the link to all the different set up pictures but I was hoping to see a picture from a "real" bride as to what it looked like.  I don't want to bring too much decor but I also don't want to be upset when I get there!!!  Any help would be great

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
