Majestic Colonial Info

Recommended Posts

Thank you SOOOO much for all that information. All the info I have sucks!

It looks like I am going to have to do some serious working things out with my coordinator, because I have soooo many people coming! I hope they can work things out with me....!

And LilRebel, I believe it's considered one giant hotel complex, so I dont think you need a guest pass if you are staying there. I think this is more for guests who are NOT staying at the resort.

That is the same info I've got.

Ladies, anyone knows about the "day pass"? What does it actually mean and who has to ge it?
if we have guests staying at the Colonial, but we are getting married at Elegance, do they need that "day pass"? (i hope not)
I would check into this. I wanted to get married at the elegance because I liked their gazebo better and the two resorts are considered separate so guests at the colonial cant use the bars and restaurants on the elegance side. My family and I were told this by a manager so we chose to have everyone stay at the colonial side and get married there. If you can try to get everyone on the same side or you will probably have to pay a day pass so they can eat and drink on the other side (wrist bands are different).

elegance and colonial are considered separate hotels...you can't stay one side and use the facilities on the other. They use separate wrist bands. I tried to do this for wedding but decided to have everyone stay on the colonial side and do my wedding there and switch over to the elegance club for my 2nd week.

I hope this helps... this is the latest I received from Sandra.
They have made so many changes to their wedding options. Sandra just sent me all those links also. I emailed her for some clarification on some things and this was her response:

•The $500 an hour option-What if I have a DJ and I would want to have the International bar instead? What would the price difference be?
[sandra de la Cruz]-Sorry, this is a rate that just include national drinks. International open bar should be paid per person per hour as stated, full price for the first hour and half price for following hours.

•What's the difference between the Traditional Dominican Band and the Trio?[sandra de la Cruz]-Both are Dominican, but the tradicitonal Dominican band is called Perico Ripiao, and it is the only thing they play (kind of a fast meringue) and the Trio will play different type of music

•What do the decorations for ceremony include for $348?
[sandra de la Cruz]-Up to 40 guests, sashes for the chairs, tulle for the gazebo, runner for the table, crystal vases with flowers for the aisle

•Can I have a photographer other than Tropical Pictures?
[sandra de la Cruz]-We, the resort work with Tropical Pictures for photography and Brightlight for Dvd, find attached the memo that explains our policies about photography / videography

•Do you have any DJ recommendations?
[sandra de la Cruz] We work with the resort Djâ€s not external ones.

I hope this helps with some questions.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
