the bride and groom get the room for their wedding night but the party must shut down at 11pm. I was there in May and toured this option. It's beautiful but my fiance and I didn't want to spend all the extra money. We wanted to do the free dinner and you can still do that with the presidential suite but it seemed like such a waste of time having guests trek back and forth to this spot.

Is there anywhere to go after 11pm? Or is the presidential suite big enough for a quiet-ish after party? wink.gif

Thanks for all the info everyone, you are the best!!

After 11pm the disco is open. The presidential suite has a living room, dining room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, bedroom. It's huge...but you still have to be quite because people are around and below. You could still hang out though and have a fun time. I would recommend it if you are going to pay for a private dinner, if you aren't I would think about it. It can be hard to round everyone up to go to dinner and get them over to the suite. Also you would have to consider drinks also. Doing open bar makes the most sense.

Thanks for the info, I think I should prob just convince my FI that we should do a site visit for a few days...that would be amazing since theres 2 ft of snow on the ground in DC! haha.

Anyway, I think we will do an open bar (regardless if its pres. suite or not..I'm not running around in my dress waiting for drinks! haha) But is it possible to buy bottles of beer or liquor for cheap anywhere? In case we wanted to do something back in our rms after the wedding since I'm assuming running back and forth to an open bar would be a little ridiculous.

Thanks!! Ahhh I love this forum!!! :)

Just letting you know that I called the resort today and they said CLAUDIA is no longer there... For those of you like me who have been working with her and havent received an email in a couple of days. I spoke to Wardez. The reason I called is because there was a post on Facebook indicating that brides can not bring in an outside DJ. This is only true for new brides who have yet to book. Wardez indicated that all brides who have booked would be ok with the DJ they have already contracted with. I did express my frustration with now having to work with another wedding coordinator. I know this is not their fault but can be a bit stressful when you feel as though you have to re-communciate your details to someone new.

You don't have to be in the DR for any specific amount of time before marrying. I am also getting married on a Friday and we are flying in on Wednesday. I think you will have plenty of time to plan and not a lot of time to be nervous :). Then, you have LOTS of time to chill and celebrate after your big day!
Thank you for the assurance! :)

Has anyone done this before?? I feel like it's silly to rent an area for only 15 guests and 3 special dances.

The WC has ok'd it but I'm always fearful that she is just okay-ing me and then when we get down there she will be like....you can't do that. lol

Thanks,

Hi Nicole! You are a day before me! I'm on the 14th, also at the gazebo. (are you at Colonial or Elegance?) What a fantastic idea for the post ceremony. I was going to forego "first dance" since we are having the dinner at the steak restaurant...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
