Name: Yrish Cathe pronounced (Irish Kate!) :)

Wedding Date: 10-10-10!!!

Wedding location: TENTATIVE but looking into Riviera Maya, MEXICO

Hi Everyone, I just joined today and I need some help. I want to plan a destination wedding to be set on October 10,2010. I want a nice small intimate wedding but I want the ceremony to be held in a Catholic Church. I want to be able to charter a boat to get to our island. Any ideas?!?! I'm looking into Mexico since I know the country is predominantly CAtholic. Any other islands with beautiful churches or cathedralshuh.gif?? Please help. Thanks so much.

XOXO

Howdy, Yrish Cathe!

I guess I don't entirely understand what you're looking for. I know there are probably lots of places in MX that have Catholic churches, but I'm not sure I understand the part about the charter boat. Are you talking, like - a party boat type thing?

Have you ever thought about Puerto Rico? I'm not sure of the denomination, but there are lovely churches there. You could check that out. :)

Good luck and happy planning. :)

Slightly confused because Mexico (Riviera Maya) is not an island. Cozumel is if that's what you mean about the boat? If you do a search on this forum for catholic ceremonies you will find different resorts with churches available. The Royal resort in Playa del Carmen has a glass walled church where they can hold Catholic ceremonies. You could look into that, I've heard lots of good things about that particular resort.

Thanks so much everyone. I wanted to do a Catholic church outside of a resort as the ones in the resorts are mostly chapels. SO I guess I was looking into someone's forum where the bride actually had to get into a boat to get to the ceremony somewhere in the Riviera Maya. ANy ideas about resortshuh.gif I'm considering Barcelo Maya, Grand Riviera Princess, and or Grand Velashuh.gif? Want a beach reception... Thanks everyone!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
