LE BLANC-Just had to brag...

Recommended Posts

Well it's official! The contract is signed, the deposit is paid and receipt received and my date is May 14, 2011!! I'm so incredibly excited!!

Now I'm trying to find a TA (I submitted a request from the top bar on the site) and figuring out new colors that go with a beach wedding. My at home wedding colors were black, white, grey and pink. Now I'm thinking pink, green and blue. However, I still want it semi shark themed though, lol!

At last wedding planning is fun when it wasn't before!! Stress and worry is replaced with excitment!

Hey girls! I just wanted to check in with everyone and see how you are doing!! Also, a little piece of encouragement hopefully. Once you guys get about 90 days from your wedding, you will start working with Diana. She is FABULOUS!!!!!!!! She has so many great ideas and will literally bend over backwards to help you. She always writes back immediately (within 24 hours at the longest) and has so many great ideas. Their DJ service and planning company are great too. Everyone is very accommodating! So, if you guys are frustrated or getting impatient, they really will make the process super easy for you. Please feel free to contact me with any questions!! xoxo

Hi girls, I just randomly came across this thread...had to add to it...we were originally getting married at le blanc, then alot of family said they would come (yeah) with kids, so we moved to moon palace, and had our honeymoon at le blanc...we just got back 2 weeks ago...and i have to say, i was disappointed with le blanc (please don't shoot the messenger!) maybe its because i had looked into it soo much, but it didn't live up to expections for me...we had booked a honeymoon suite..and it was sooo noisy! we actually asked to move back to moon palace, they were horrified, and asked us to say a night and they'd move us the next day...we did, and they upgraded us(yeah!) to a suite the following day...honestly, I wouldn't stay at le blanc again unless it was a high floor suite...the building is just soo noisy, partly because of the ipod docks in the rooms, but also because of the location of the wall switches, and the jacuzzi's. Altho I was already aware of it, and didn't think it would be a big deal, we REALLY missed having a balcony.

Appart from that, the service was excellent, and the hotel itself was mind-blowing...location was prime and the pools and beach/pool service was second to non!

I've not done this to upset anyone, just to give my view...I always appreciated everyone opinions in my planning, and le blanc reviews were hard to come by on here...if i'm being honest, I don't think I'd have changed hotels even if I'd read a review like this, as the reason we chose mexico was because of le blanc, but if i was to return, i'd go back to moon palace, or if i wanted to spend a wee bit more, go to the royal.

Thanks so much for sharing this info! Obviously, with less than 50 days til my wedding at Le Blanc, I cannot and will not switch resorts. But this is good to know. Luckily, we are staying in the Governor's suite on the top floor with a balcony. The balcony was definitely an issue for me, so hopefully my guests will not to be too mad about a small balcony! ha I guess we never know what to expect with these destination weddings. Also, everyone has their "must haves" in a resort and things that are important to them. We have 50 guests coming to Le Blanc, so I am sure some people will be completely satisfied and some people will be let down. I guess that's just how it is when you are trying to please that many people. Hopefully, when it is all said and done, my guests will be happy they got to see us get married at a gorgeous resort, be treated like royalty, eat great food, drink tasty drinks, and have the time of their lives!! I am just praying that the little things will not have too much of an impact on them. I am nervous about the hotel living up to my expectations. I have researched these hotels sooooooo much, so I am expecting to be let down a little. There is no way a resort can live up to ALL of our expectations. But I will say this: the wedding planners there have been a DREAM to work with. Diana emails me every single day and answers all of my questions. She goes out of her way to provide impeccable service. SHe has even negotiated lower prices for things, booked outside events for me, etc etc etc etc. So, to a bride, this has been priceless. Let's just hope my guests feel the same way about the service and the beauty of Le Blanc!!

phew! I was really worried incase ppl thought i was just trying to upset ppl...yeah you have the right attitude, and i'm sure everyone will love it... I truly do think my main problem was i researched it for 2 years flat out, and new everything inside out...so wasn't surprised or excited about little things....so my advice is to NOT keep looking into your resort once your booked!lol

Thanks for the info MrsD!! I haven't booked my stay yet. I've only booked the wedding. I will keep all the info you shared in mind when doing so. I really still want to get married at Le Blanc no matter what. It really is everything I'm looking for (except for the balcony thing, lol) If noise is an issue on the lower floors, then I'll just pass that info along to guests who are planning on attending.

It's so helpful to have anyone share any info about Le Blanc good or bad <3

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
