Do the Amsterdam Tailors deal with beading on the gown?  I got my dress at Bridal Debut and they've got a "beading specialist" or something there to fix beading after alterations.

Where are all the Mothers of the Brides shopping and what sorts of things are they wearing?

My mom got her dress at Melanie Lynn, they had a really good selection of dresses for older women. She bought when the summer stuff went on clearance. My mom wanted to get a dress with mostly black, but I told her that this is a beach wedding and she should try and get some colours. The dress she found is white, blue and green, very nice for the beach!

Yes she can alter every part of your gown, the friend I mentioned had beading all over the bust of her gown and had it taken in 3 sizes.  I wouldn't put it past Bridal Debut to be over charging you for the "beading specialist" since it sounds like something every good seamstress should be able to do.  Everyone I know that got their alterations done there got over charged for silly things like cutting off crinoline or the ends of strings!  They even told me I would have to pay to have the tacking fixed on my dress when it came from the designer with ripped tacking!

My mom also got her dress from Melanie Lynn in South Common.  They are really nice and beachy yet still good for a MOB.

Thanks for the suggestions for Le Chateau. Unfortunately they were LESS then accommodating and although I found the two sizes I needed in Scarborough ON they would not bring them in for me, nor would they let me pay for them over the phone and send them COD. So, boo.

Glad I found out that I couldn't get the groomsman outfits with 2 months to spare... We ended up ordering from Islandimporter.com, they carry their clothes at Sublime Swimwear in St. Albert, so I went and checked them out and the quality of the linen pants is amazing! Much better then Le Chateau, so I guess it was a blessing in disguise. Only thing is, Sublime does charge approx $50 more per pant so if you ladies need pants ordering them online is much cheaper if you can wait :)

Hope you ladies are doing great, we have 7 weeks to go, panic level is up a little lol.

I'm using Brian Napier customvows.ca He's in St. Albert,  I think it's around 120.00 for a legal only wedding with him.

He was recommended to me by my TA. I just sent him an email and I really hope I haven't left it too late!! We're going to Punta Cana in January so I was hoping to get the "paperwork" done here in November. Was Brian good at responding? Schedule somewhat flexible? We are also thinking of the legal wedding too, the ceremony will be down south.

Less than 4 months until my wedding! I'm starting to get more and more excited!! When's everyone else's big day? nmurch my date in January 17th, so just one week after yours!

He was also recommended to me as well and my wedding is in December. I had chatted with him when we first booked our destination wedding in March or April and I am hoping that we are fine for it as well.  He has a few packages and the website is pretty informative.  There is also a list of marriage commisionnaires as a link in the links section of his website just in case.

Best of luck!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
