Hey there Ladies, I went to bridal debut (the south side one) and had a great experience. Couldn't quite make up my mind, but they recomemded that I go to the Sherwood Park store and when I do they will bring the other two that I really liked so I can compare.

I think I am going to take the FI to the bridal house to look for his clothing, has anyone gone anywhere else for their FI?

Keep sharing info, any places that you have gone for wedding of AHR stuff?

Hi

I have gone to Wedding World. THey do have a big selection, but not a lot of "hounding" help when I went (which is ok sometimes). I was looking for bridesmaid dresses and they do have many to choose from of all the popular bridesmaid companies.

I bought my wedding dress from Bridal Debut in Edmonton (south side location) and the girl there was patient and let me try on lots of dresses. I bought my Maggie dress off the rack discontinued the day it arrived in the store of $550. I guess right time right place.

Good luck with your shopping.

Another Edmonton bride here. Great to read the suggestions for places to look for dresses! I haven't even started looking yet! Yikes. I was worried though, because when my sister went in March to find a dress for her DW, she said she had a really hard time finding "beachy dresses" and ended up just ordering one off the internet. I'm too scared to order my dress off the internet!!

I will try that Bridal Debut place that a lot of you seemed to luck out at and also Novelle Bridal. What were the prices like there? I'm on a tight budget wink.gif

I ordered my Maggie Sottero(Denise) from bridal debut for $900. That seemed to be a good deal for a bridal dress when I asked my recently married friends. But if you can find an off the rack or sample sale you can get one for around $200-$600. don't forget alterations cost at least $300 for hem, bustle and bust.

I got my dress at Bridal Debut (Sherwood Park). I loved my dress and was very pleased with the service there, including the work of the seamstress. I would recommend Bridal Debut any day.

For the guys' attire, we shopped at The Bay and Sears. They dressed more casually, with khaki pants and short-sleeved blue linen button down shirts. One piece of advice --I'd be shopping for "beachy" clothes right now instead of waiting until the fall. My hubby had a heck of a time finding shirts for a beach wedding when he shopped in November/December. He lucked out by finding shirts he liked on the clearance rack at The Bay (out of season stuff), but had to go to about 4 different Bay stores in Edmonton to get the right sizes...

Hey all of my fellow EDM brides to be! Our wedding is in Jamaica - April 25th, 2011 @ the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites! I've done a bit of dress shopping - Both Bridal Debut's (they actually had quite a different selection at each store!), Sposabella - I walked out of there without trying anything on as nothing appealed to me, Ethos (WEM) had a surprising selection of trendy & cute dresses - The only thing is that they are all in zippered plastic bags & packed in like sardines so it's hard to find one that catches the eye. I am currently torn between a dress at Bridal Debut SP and one at Ethos - I am still going to scope out what they have at Pure Bridal and Novell and then I'm DONE!

Good luck with the dress shopping ladies!

I'm going to post pics of my final few choices to get some opinions... stay tuned!!

Hi ladies! I'm not quite an Edmonton bride (Red Deer) but I have been to a few bridal stores there with friends. I found the assistants at Sposabella to be very rude when I went shopping there with my bf. She ended up getting her dress at Novella and I went to all of her fittings with her. The owner was great to work with and they did an awesome job on the fittings. I ended up getting my dress at Ethos Calgary, ordered it in April but it won't be In until October. That seemed like a long time to me but they ladies there were very helpful and patient. I ordered a Mikaella dress and it was $1100.

has anyone brought their dress to 'Debbie's Bridal Fashions" to get altered? I have seen good reviews about this place and am going to get mine done there but wanted to see if there was anyone here who took their dress there to get hemmed/altered.

I need to get mine hemmed and the neckline altered from a straight across neckline to a sweetheart neckline... Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
