New and indecisive

Hi everyone,

My name is Aisha and I'm new on these boards. Everything is still pretty new and I really don't have any details as yet. I am a consummate planner so once he asked and I said yes, I got right on it. I have always wanted a destination wedding and I know he will go along. My friend told me about this website so I joined and I am just trying to find out all that I can. I do have some dates and locations in mind however. We are from NJ but he works in TX. We both have caribbean roots. We both want a small, elegant but no fuss wedding.

Dates:

His birthday - October

Late Winter/Early Spring - March, April

Late summer - September

My locations that I am considering are:

St. Vincent and the Grenadines, specifically Union Island

San Antonio, TX (Barr Mansion)

Mexico (not sure where)

St. Lucia (it's beautiful there)

Ultimately, our plan is to have a small wedding with close family and friends (between 30-50 people) and then when we get back home have a big backyard pot luck bar-b-cue, where everyone is invited and come to meet the newly weds. Like I said in the beginning everything is still new and I am so excited to start the planning process.

I would definitely appreciate any help.

Aisha

Welcome Aisha. Looks like you are off to a good start. Just enjoy this time and feel free to ask questions on the board and we have wonderful people who can help you out at any point along the way. We have wonderful vendors on the board also that would be happy to help you out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
