For those of you following the "Jaime is sick all the time" topic...

Ok, so I've been pretty sick off and on for the past two months or so. First I thought it was solved when I went back to the oral surgeon (had my wisdom teeth out a couple months ago) and he found a medicated bandage that had been left in a dry socket. He gave me antibiotics (ZPak) but it didn't get better. I finally went to CareNow last weekend and the doc said he thought I had a really bad sinus infection that had grown resistant to the ZPak because I had taken 2 of them within 2 months (1 precautionary for the surgery and 1 after they found the bandage left in me). So he gave me a stronger antibiotic (Omnicef, I think) and a steroid shot. Well, it's been 5 days now and no changes. Every day around 4-5pm my tonsils get really swollen, I get a slight fever, have very little energy, headache, etc... and this is after taking extra strength Tylenol. My Dad has also been sick for the same time frame, maybe even longer and he got prescribed the same antibiotics and was better the next day. He felt it more in his ears tho (they were very fluid filled to the point where he couldn't hear well). So that's why I had the doc give me the same antibiotic. Well, now that I'm not responding to it I started to wonder what was up, if it might be some sort of virus instead. I talked to my Grandma and when she heard my glands were so swollen she said it could be Mono. That would totally make sense! I have all the symptoms except a sore throat. Anyways, I plan on going to get tested for it tomorrow. Just wanted to update those of y'all who have been following along... I will get this figured out and I promise to get better one of these days, SHEESH! muscle.gif

Mono? No more kissy-kissy for you and Martin.

Just kidding! I know that is a myth.

I hope you feel better. If this turns out to be allerigies or sinus, I cannot recommned Allertan enough. This is the stuff that got my ear feeling better a few weeks ago.

Good luck!

Haha, that's what my Grandma said - "you'd better stop kissing Martin"... but she was serious, lol. I've been kissing him the whole time and he's fine. cheesy.gif They say that most adults are immune to it.

Thanks for the Allertan tip! I really don't think this is allergies but I do get allergies from time to time so I'll keep that in mind. :)

Yes, it does suck to feel so crappy! Right now I'm just trying to focus on getting through the summer semester. It's hard to keep up when you feel like you have ZERO energy but I'm doing the best I can and I know I can do it if I just hang in there! cheer2.gif

Thanks. I did read that it can affect your liver and mostly your spleen, so you have to be very careful about exercising or doing activities because your spleen could rupture (eek). But they say that most ppl come out of it fine with no lasting effects. I don't drink too often (a few glasses of wine a week on avg.) but I've stopped while on antibiotics. If it is mono I will do more research on this.

Hmmm, I wonder about Tylenol - I've been taking Tylenol a few times a day for awhile now to ease the symptoms and also a Hydrocodone/Guiafinnesin syrup occasionally at night. These are the only things that help to alleviate my symptoms but I wonder what role they play on the spleen/liver. Hopefully I don't have to just suffer through it w/o any medicine - that would be miserable.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
