Fake starfish..?

Recommended Posts

I would love to see some pictures of them, if it is not too much trouble.. I am looking for 4-6 Large ( 8''- 10''  if possible)  Sugar starfish, and then about 30 of the medium to small starfish to decorate the backs of the chairs with.. and they are impossible to find locally here in Canada ... Thank you so much for doing that Sllefebvr!

OMG, you're so wonderful Sllefebvr! Yes, I would love to see pictures of the different starfish and sand dollars. If you could find out if they're made of plastic, resin, etc, that would be helpful too! We don't have a Christmas Tree Shoppe where I live, and I've been searching for a while for fake ones. Thanks so much!

Hey Jennifer,

I saw your post and thought I would comment. Unless I got wrong info, I thought the same...get someone from the States to ship to you but..U.S. Wildlife doesn't allow them to leave the country. So you would have to declare them to be something else...yikes! I know...sucks..can't order from u.s. online either...I read this all on threads from past brides.

Michaels does have them...pricey I know but if you use your 40% off coupon, a bag isn't too bad.

guys, i have fake starfish that you can't even tell...i've painted them...some purple and some silver and i've even left a few white...(pics below)

i personally have a 'thing' about using a 'dead' starfish in my decor...maybe its just me..i'm not an animal activist or anything but i find it kinda creepy plus i think if the 'fake' ones are well made no one will even be able to tell the difference.

Those are beautiful!! I was also looking for fake starfish.. however  It is impossible to find Fake sugar starfish... that are 8-10 inches... at least i had no luck at all.. so i conceded and purchased real ones.. as it was the sugar starfish i wanted...  maybe it is just limited for us Canadians to find large fake ones... i dunno... but i had no luck whatsoever so i got the real ones... heheh

I really like yours and I too would prefer using fake ones. Can you tell me where you got yours? I am prepared or order them. Thanks!

In case it's helpful, I found that if you do web searches for "resin starfish" or "replica starfish", you're more likely to find fake starfish. These sites sell them. Fake starfish is definitely more expensive than natural starfish!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
