I have been dealing with Weddings by Oceans for a couple of months now and they have been fantastic! I have been dealing with Ashley as well and she has been wonderful. She is very responsive and always gets back to you. We just booked our wedding this week!!!
We had issues with the resort we originally wanted to go with and Ashley helped us and provided us with an even better option for a resort and got a price that was $500 cheaper than another company quoted us!
2 week period for quotes is the general wait time with any large travel booking in Canada. It is not them being slow, it is them waiting on the tour operators. I have dealt with another company called "The Wedding Holiday" and they were absolutely horrible. Would not even respond to an email for weeks let alone get quotes. They did not even tell me that the quote for the resort they were pushing me to go with didn't have anyone flying their next summer anymore!! Ridiculous! On top of it all we were passed on to 4 different people while we were dealing with them during a 6 month period and non of them ever had our details straight. I would never recommend "The Wedding Holiday" and I am so glad that we found "Weddings by Oceans"!!!!!!!!

Can you tell me when your wedding date is and where? Just curious how far in advance you booked. Thanks!

Glad you are having a pleasant experience as well. Weddings by Oceans has been very great to deal with and their owner has over 25 years of extensive experience in the travel industry. They dont just claim to have the expertise, they can prove it. They are having a "Brides Bash" on May 29. Contact them for more details if you want to join.
We are getting married in June 2011 at Barcelo Los Cabos in Cabo. I just booked, so just over a year in advance. I would recommend doing at least a year especially with popular resorts- I heard that a few in the mayan are already sold out for weddings in 2011. We also want to give our guests enough notice. What resorts are you looking into?

We have been working with Weddings By Oceans for a few months now- our experience has been hit and miss. I have been working with Ashley and although she is super nice, she's made the same mistake repeatedly. The staff their do not really seem to be on the ball.
Our credit card got charged for the deposit, without them even calling to tell us they would be putting the cost through. A few weeks later I saw this charge from a vendor I did not know(was not from WBO) and had to piece 2 and 2 together to figure out it was them. When I called to ask why they didn't even check if it was ok for them to charge us, they didn't even apologize for not letting us know.
On another note they are pretty good at getting us quotes and don't mind doing this a number of times.
My biggest pet peeve with them is the lack of attention to detail.
Having said all that, based on my experience with other travel agencies it's not much better elsewhere.
Hope this helps.
Q: Who have all of you booked with?

Having your ceremony in a ocean is not that bad. It's nice since many people are doin that now. You can also try at Vermont it's somewhat king of a riverside wedding.
