Half-Moon in Montego Bay?

Recommended Posts

I'm a newbie, and I just found this forum! I got engaged a month ago and just decided to do a destination wedding(always been my dream), with the wedding date of June 19th, 2010. I'm looking for wedding sites in Montego Bay that are affordable, all inclusive. Prob a small wedding 10-20. I haven't seen any reviews for half moon, and I did like what I saw on their website, so I thought I'd see if anyone had any information to share!

I'm planning on honeymooning in Negril at Couples Swept Away so if you've been there, let me know what you think of that too! Thanks so much!

I have visited Half Moon's website too. I want some personalized information from them too. I was quite impressed by what I saw on their website. I also checked them out on trip advisor and the actual photos looked really good. Also there was not much negative criticism on trip advisor. If you find something out, please share with me.

I got married last April at Half Moon and had a great time. Its a beautiful property and the staff is wonderful and very friendly. We had a large wedding - about 120 people - and I thought they handled this quite well. I'm sure they would do a great job on a smaller wedding as well, I would just ask if there are other weddings the same day/weekend..There weren't any others as far as I could tell when I was there.

My family and friends still tell me how great a time they had at HM. Congrats and good luck!

Aimee, did you use one of the Half Moon wedding coordinators or did you hire your own?

I will be getting married there in April 2011 and am now just getting started with getting a WP and booking vendors etc. Would love any information you can give me that will help with the process of finding the right people and making sure that my day goes forward without any hitches. Thanks and congratulations.

Hello Aimee

Firstly congratulations and I am sure you are still enjoying being a newly wed. I am getting married at Half Moon on 21st May 2011 and I am having roughly 50 guests. I was intrigued to see that you had 120, may I ask:

Where on the resort  did you have your wedding? I am favouring the Lily Gazebo Pond

Did you use one of Half Moon's recommended photographer's

Did all your guest stay at Half Moon if not did you have any additional costs for bringing them onsite

Did you use the make up artists onsite if so may I ask what the costs was and how far in advance you had to book.

Sorry for all the questions but I am mid planning and any info or recommendations you have would be extremely helpful.

Thanks in advance

Mettie,

How is your planning progressing? I am getting married at Half Moon on May 2011 and I am excited.  Do you know how many guests are attending or which location on the resort you wil have- as you can imagine I have so many questions and I am so relieved to have found this forum

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
