Has your Groomie seen you in your dress prior to the wedding?

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

My honey is not only my FI and my future Hubby, but he's also my BF so my first dress fitting my honey to be was there. I know they say NOT to have him see your dress etc... etc... but in all honesty he is the one person I truly believe will tell me what looks fabulous and what doesn't look so fabulous (in his eyes everything is fabulous but only 1 is perfect). In the end he won't see me in the "final" dress I choose however he has seen me in a wedding gown, is this only me doing something so unconventional? or am I just nuts? blush2.gif share your thoughts! smile72.gif

My FI has seen a picture of the dress but he hasn't seen me in the dress. I really don't see why it's such a big deal. I was going to bring the dress to my house to hang up but everyone said "no he may see it." I'm like so what but anyway the dress is at my mother's house now so I'm sure he won't see it before the wedding but if he did I don't know what the big deal is.

I dont think its a issue, i hate all those stupid rules that its bad luck. My FI didnt go with me when i when dress shopping but looked at all the pictures of me in the dresses after the fact. i didnt want something he hated. The dress i chose was only one of two that he really liked in all 40 plus pictures i shown him. I had to show him the picture a couple of months later cause he completely forgot what it looked like and if i asked him today he would be able to pick it out.

Ladies, you're right to each their own.....I still am on the hunt for the perfect dress my first fitting didn't go as I thought it would, the lady was awful, I was trying on a pretty Maggie Sottero dress.... some of the other ones didn't fit and this one fit beautifuly and she made a comment that Maggie is a big girl herself so she caters to that type.... I expected walking out of my first fitting to feel beautiful instead I walked out with a complex..... not ideal for your first fitting, but I was happy that my FI was there, because he put a smile on my face =)

My FI hasen't seen my dress either even though I have had it for a while now, it's funny but he doesn't want to see anything related to what I will be wearing that day as he wants to be surprised! I think it's cute!

Sylvie, don't worry about the fitting, I went to a few and I was convinced that I was a fat cow, one place that i went to - the lady told me that there were only a few dresses that I could try on as all their samples were too small! I felt pretty dry but then a co-worker explained to me that that place mostly rents out the dresses and caters to certain ethnicities..........

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
