We did a simple website on mywedding.com and sent out electronic save-the-date announcements as soon as we decided on our wedding date and destination. We want to get the announcement out as fast as possible so our guests can block their vacation dates. This was so much easier and didn't cost us anything.

I do want to make some really cool invites though, either boarding passes or passport... just need some good templates! :)

It sure does!! And if it goes long like the Toronto garbage strike did, we could be looking at a few months without mail! I'm sure the government will step in at some point but still inconvenient if you're trying to plan a wedding! undecided.gif

  • 7 months later...

We were totally planning to send out STD's that were postcards. Then we found out we have a very short window to get people to put down their deposits and lock in the room rate (due to a promotion available from our resort). We had to switch to electronic STDs and phone calls. We emailed the STD, posted it to both our wedding website and our Facebook group, and then called folks to make sure they saw it, see if they had questions, etc.

I am very disappointed that we didn't get to send these out paper - as I totally adore paper goods.  Our logo would have been on the front, with the rest of the info on the back more like a postcard.

Trying to switch expectations and focus on a "thank you for booking" mailing, then the invite & pre-travel brochure.

Roll with the punches, right..?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
