Prices for trip?

Recommended Posts

I agree with Maureen in that the Negril price package sounds about right. Although I am getting married at Sandals Dunn's River, for our 2nd week, we plan on staying at the Whitehouse and Negril is actually more expensive so about $2500 per person including insurance is actually pretty decent.

Maureen, I have a question for you. If I had put a deposit down ($200 per person) to secure my dates for Dunn's and Whitehouse, would I lose the deposit money if I decided to go with a packaged trip? I initially decided to book the hotel and flight separately since at the time the package deals were not so great and I wanted to secure a wedding date. I'm still not changing the wedding date, but I am seeing right now that there is a good package deal for us to depart 1 day earlier (Friday vs. Saturday). Right now the flight prices are high and I'm worried that they are not going to drop prior to our wedding date in April. I'm hoping that I won't have to pay any additional service fees since it's not like I am switching hotels or anything. Although my dates will change by 1 day.

I personally do not think $5000 is too much for Sandals Negril. We are getting married there in March 2011 and got an amazing deal of 2 free nights & 60% off and it's still costing us $7700. We're travelling from Ireland, so airfair is $3625 minimum & we are going for a plantation suite! Yes it's probably going to be the most expensive week ever!, but we have been to regular all-inclusive's for a week for under 3K but want something extra special...and that is what you are paying for! Sandals is not just all-inclusive, it is Luxury included & the difference, as the pro's have already pointed out, are huge! I mean you can go water skiing whenever you want, I will have a personal butler & if I want dinner on my balcony with a bottle of champagne, I can have it! No extra cost! That is why it costs what it does, and trust me...it will be worth it!!!!

It was tough decision for us as well. We went the Riu for our wedding because it was more afforable for our guest. We are moving to a Sandals resort for our honeymoon. We will be there a total of nine days. It all depends on what you are looking for. For us we wanted the best of both worlds for us and them. Our guest are spending about $900-1100pp but our trip is about $5000.

Wow! I wanted to go to Sandals but unfortunately, we have couples coming with their whole family so we decided to go with kid-friendly ROR.

Our wedding is Nov 2010 and got the all-inclusive package of $3200 per couple, with a condition that if the rate goes down, we can change the booking to the lower rate only once time.

Sandals Negril is a very nice resort! You are paying for the food, drinks, room, airfare, and the security of being secluded.

My FI and went there in during the off season and we paid about $2500 for about four nights, so your price is just about right.

It's well worth it!

Negril is considered the quieter part of Jamaica and the prices are much higher than in Montego Bay. But Sandals is top notch. You will love every minute of it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
