Dreams PV: Deals on your room for booking 30?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! New bride here! cheesy.gif I'm in the process of deciding if Dreams PV is the right destination for us. I am working with the resort to get a definite price on our room as well as our guest rooms. I've seen on here that some brides who booked 30 guest rooms got their room for free. Is this a special deal or the "usual" for DPV? Did you get your whole stay taken care of? Just trying to make sense of this :) Thanks ladies! Don't know WHAT I would do without this site! Sure makes planning a wedding in Mexico a MILLION times easier!

Cheers!

Kate

P.S. Any hints on getting the cost of the guests rooms down so we can save them money??

Congrats Kate! Just my opinion but get some TA quotes as well. TA's were less than Dreams for me and Dreams wouldn't budge on the price.

With my TA for double occupancy we got for 35 rooms:

Deluxe - $110 per night (per person)

Jr Suite - $135

Jr jacuzzi - $145

This was with taxes and fees included - single occupancy rates were more than splitting the double occupancy.

Just so you know though, rates definitely depend on the time of year you are going and when you book. As far as upgrades, we got a 1 level upgrade from deluxe to jr suite and I think 3 free nights at the deluxe rate - Dreams PV is not good at upgrades at all. If you read some of our reviews you will see that.

Any questions feel free to ask but definitely contact a TA.

I would check out rates going through the hotel directly, but you might want to look into using a travel agent as well. Sometimes the travel agent can negotiate with the hotel directly to give you added discounts and upgrades.

I personally found going through the travel agent was less expensive and easier in general. Especially when communicating back and worth. Dreams PV does a great job communicating and getting back to you, but I found that a travel agent is more accessible for our guests (to contact/ get questions answered) and more in line for what services we needed.

We are doing our wedding in October (which I think is low season) Since it will be over a 3 day holiday weekend and most people will be coming from west coast we are doing mostly 3 and 4 night packages and it include airport transfers, and $200 resort credit/coupon (and of course kids are free)

3 nights 4 nights

Deluxe Oceanview w/balcy $267 per person $352 per person

Preferred Club Junior Suite $369 per person $488 per person

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
