Inspired by this awesome wedding video(YouTube - Levi and Christinas Wedding) , I have started to play with Windows Movie Maker to learn how to make something like that.

I thought it would be useful to start a thread about using Movie Maker so we can teach each other how to get the most out of the program.

Movie Maker is already on your computer if you have Windows XP. I found it pretty easy to start using without reading how to do it. Now I'm trying to learn how to do more advanced stuff. I'll look for a good description to post about getting started.

This is what I made on my first attempt. It was much easier than I expected.

Video of Engagement - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This is my video after I downloaded new zoom & panning techniques.

Video of Engagement 5 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I just found out a way to zoom in on specific things & to pan across the picture. I had to download an addition to the program from here to do that. Rehan Pan Zoom Effects

You can try it free for 15 days. After that its $8. It was really easy to download & use. The new effects are available in the "effects" menu.

My current project is finding out how to overlay pictures where the one on top is transparent. I'll post if I figure out how to do it.

UPDATE Use this for hosting your video Vimeo, Video Sharing For You

UPDATE I've been told photostory is much easier to use to make slideshows. I haven't used it. it should be a free download if you have windows.

Windows Movie Maker: How to use

Here is the website to get you started on how to use Movie Maker. Its pretty user friendly so you might be able to figure it out just by clicking around. Depends on how much you use a computer.

I'm starting to explore this page to find cool effects to add to my program.

WindowsMovieMakers.NET for Microsoft Windows Movie Maker 2 Enthusiasts.

How long is it? I think photobucket will only store a 10 minute video. If you want to make a longer video you can use onetruemedia.com. Its $3.99 per month.

I'm finding some great stuff on Movie Maker about movie maker. I feel like I'm close to being able to make the transparent image on another picture. I will share it once I do it.

I LOVE my Windows Movie Maker. I'm starting to get addicted! lol

I've made several slideshows, and am starting to edit my wedding video as well. Here are two that I've uploaded...both of these are on this forum in other threads:

This is from my brother's BMT Graduation

Jared's BMT Graduation at One True Media - share slideshows, slide shows, MySpace slideshows, MySpace codes, free video sharing, video montages.

This is the first one that I made (not very good- would like to redo some of the fades & stuff), but it has a bunch of misc pics from our wedding week.

Sarah, I have a question for you.. SO your newest addiction is making slideshows, so my question is this... Now that you have been playing around do you still feel it was worth spending the extra money to have Juan make your slideshows? I know he does an AMAZING job with them, I'm just courous on how you feel about it now that you know how to do them.

Hi Morgan,

I've played around a bit with Movie Maker but I'm finding that when I view it full screen that the pictures look blurry (Pixelated). Are you having that same problem? Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

I really like using Movie Maker b/c it's so easy. but the pictures don't look that great. I tried it through Powerpoint and my pictures look fine full screen...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
