Price Increase

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! We are really hoping to get married in Cabo on March 29th. I know this is spring break but I'm finding that the prices for rooms/flights are way higher than what we paid to go in July. Have you guys found this as well? We are going from Thurs. to Sunday July 26th-29th and we paid $650 a piece for our flight and two nights at the Sheraton. I think this is totally reasonable and that's what I was planning on our guests paying when they come to our wedding. However, I got the Sheraton's price quotes for March 2008 and the cheapest room was like $350 a night. I can't ask all my guests to pay this. Any advice would be helpful. We're going to have to consider other hotels so any suggestions would be great. I really had my heart set on the Sheraton. sad.gif If anyone has gotten married there and can tell me what they had to pay and has some tips for me, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

Have you looked into Marbella Suites en la Playa? Not a fancy hotel at all, but it has an old Spanish charm to it and the all the rooms are actually suites (with kitchens and living rooms) and they're big and clean. The rate for a standard room next year is about $120 a night.

But just so you know, there is no elevator - so unless you can get a staff member to carry your bags, you'll have to lug them up and down the stairs yourselves. There also aren't any TV's or phone's in the rooms (except for the Presidental Suite.) So if you have any issues with the hotel (need more towels, blankets, etc) you'll have to walk to the front desk rather than calling them. BUT - there is a phone room that allows you to make free calls to the US and Canada since the calls are routed through the internet somehow. And there is a TV room with recliners and a ping pong table. Plus, this hotel is directly on the beach, also has a pool and two hot tubs and a restaurant.

I'm probably going to recommed this hotel for my guests that don't want to pay $300 a night at the Hilton. And we'll let them know that we're providing transportation for them to the welcome dinner and the day of the wedding. This way they don't have to stress out about getting around.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
