I have been reading several forum posts and have been overwhelmed with information. We are considering having our guests stay at Dreams. We not decided where we will have the ceremony and reception. We have been thinking about Las Caletas. Anybody have an suggestions or opinions on where we should have them? Las Caletas or Dreams?

Thanks,

Hello :)

I am a Las Caletas bride (May 11. 2010) and I am really excited about it! We are having our guests stay at Dreams Puerto Vallarta as well. My MOH stayed at Dreams PV a few months ago and LOVED it, so that was a easy choice for us.

Las Calestas is going to be great. Kelley, my wedding coordinator has been SO helpful so far!! I started planning about 2 1/2 months ago and it has gone so easily!

If you want any information I would be happy to tell you what I know

Well it depends what you want. We were considering Las Caletas but didn't want our guests to have to deal with a 45 minute boatride there and back. I know it is not a big deal to a lot of people, but it bothered us for some reason.

We did love Dreams though. You could always have the best of both worlds and stay at Dreams and have your wedding at Las Caletas.

It does depend on what you want for sure. The boat ride there and back was a big selling point for us! It added to the anticipation and the originality of our wedding. I mean, how many people can say they went to a wedding on a private beach that they had to take an hour long catamaran ride to get to? Awesome!

But that is true that it isnt for everyone!

I have to agree that it would be really cool to have your wedding on a private beach and the boat ride over would be so exciting. Plus when looking on the internet- it is absolutely gorgeous!

However, we ended up going with Dreams PV because although the boat ride seems fun to me, it actually was a deal breaker.

We were worried some of our guests would get sea sick (especially if alcohol was involved) and when mentioning it to some of the older members of our family- they were not to keen on the idea.

Trust me if it was not for the hour long boat ride... I would have it there too. =)

Las Caletas is so pretty and we did end up going to Rhythms of the Night. But I get sea sick really bad and didn't want to have to deal with that on the wedding day. Dreams PV is a great place afnd perfect for a wedding. Whatever you decide will be amazing!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
