Blue Flowers

Hi,

My h2b and myself have decided on a blue wedding. I am now looking for ideas for flowers and boquets in blue. Hydrongena flowers are blue, but I don't particular like them. I'm looking at real touch or fake flowers as I'm marrying mexico. Does any one have ideas of what flowers and where i could get them from.

If you do decide on real flowers - any flower that comes in white (roses, daisies, gerbers, etc) can be done in blue.

 

That being said, if you want fake flowers - use the search function and look up "real touch" flowers. Lots of brides get real touch bouqets.

I am also looking for great blue bouquets. I keep thinking of the iris flower... it's the only deep blue I can come up with so far.

When i was married in jamaica in 1994 they sprayed my hubbys buttonhole.

Bird of paradise have the blue tip to them with orange of course.

I would advise NOT to do this. I wanted to get blue roses for my previous wedding and a florist told me it might stain my wedding dress.

If its done correctly by a good florist it shouldn't - especially if the bouquet is wrapped correctly. However, I would agree with you that it may not be the best idea as who knows the quality of the florists in the Carribean.

But for decorations and such, its a very viable option. My uncle owned a greenhouse and his flowers were lovely. He actually bred a blue gerber, I believe - naturally blue in colour.

Thats another thing - some florists MAY be able to grow blue flowers - I'd google it and see. Maybe there is a florist you can talk to near your resort??

Wow. that's a tough one. I did a google search of blue flowers, and there aren't many (i'm still considering blue for my theme). What about doing an all white bouquet, and having them wrap the stems together in a blue satin ribbon of your choice? Or have them att blue Swarovski crystals to the petals of the white flowers? You can even bring your own rhinestone brooche to add to it... Just a thought

Blue flowers can sometimes be a little on the purple side, not sure if this bothers you or not. Here are some flowers that come in blue:
