Should I Buy It

Recommended Posts

Ok one day my DBF's cousin takes me into David's Bridal to try on dresses. she thought he was going to propose and wanted me to get that out of the way. so I tried on a dress and liked 2 and heart 1 (thanx Glenda) the price was 599 at the time and since Iam trying to get my credit together decided to wait.

Well the saleslady calls and says that it is being discontinued and the price is now 99. I have no idea when DBF will propose and what our future holds but i adore the dress. It fits the twins (boobies) well and doesnt make me look tooooo fat.

SHOULD I BUY IT

I can not post pictures right now. Will edit when I can post pictures

hmmmm good question catherine....

I would say get it but get it in a bigger size then you are right now, so when he does ask you, you would already have the dress and all you would have to do is alter it.

That's what I would do especially if the dress is $99 right now.

THe only thing I would worry about is how your fi would react if he knew you bought it. If he is a little afraid of the huge committment marriage is, and he is trying to work through it , coming home with a wedding dress may not be your best move. He may see that as you are not being respectful of the time he needs to process the most important decision he will ever make. Now if you really think he won't care, then go for it, as long as you don't think you will become a multiple dress bride. The price is great, and maybe your fi knowing that you can get married on a budget may actually help! I think you should feel him out on the idea first, then make a decision based on his reaction.

That's a tough one. It's probably not what you want to hear, but I think it would be jumping the gun a little and I agree w/Kelly - what would he say if he found out you bought the dress before he had the chance to propose? It is a GREAT deal, but another one is sure to come up in the future.

Sorry, I know it's so hard to hold off on things like that. sad.gif

Couldn't she buy it and keep it at someones house or something....huh.gif That's what I was thinking....

Catherine, if you're going to get in a fight with your fi about it and know you might will then I would wait...Kelly and Jaime are right, there will be other dresses the same price down the road....

I just contradicted (sp?) myself right now LOL

I think honesty is the most important aspect of any relationship, especially the person you are going to spend your life with, you would hate for himto find out you bought a dress and feel blind sided, and maybe even feel resentful tht everyone kows but him. I think if he feels okay about you having your future wedding dress you should still keep it at someone elses house. Men are funny, they don't want the proposat to be a, all that's left to do thing, he just maybe needs you to slow down and let him do this the way he needs to do it. Men want to feel in control of their own destiny. You also don't want to always question that he just got married because you wore him down and it was just easier since it was all planned out, and set up so all he had to do was sign on the dotted line. When he finally asks you, you will know that it is so meaningful, because of the seriousness he takes this committment. I really think you need to relax, and let him figure out things.

I have a different perspective because I was one who had a hard time saying yes to marriage again. Everton wanted it so bad, but the more he asked the more I felt guilty, and almost said yes for that reason. I finally told him that and he said he wanted me to marry me but wanted me to be confident in that decision, he knew I loved him, that was never in question. He backed off life felt better and then one day it hit me, I knew, and here we are. So I know it's hard but you must find the patience, and security you need to keep your relationship on the right road.

Kelly~

I hope I haven't overstepped my bounds, if I have I am sorry. I just understand loving someone, but not yet ready to be married!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
