Should I Buy It

Recommended Posts

Catherine, I thought you were gonna propose to him on Father's day??!!

Maybe he has to S##t or get off the pot! OR, maybe you should wait, I do not know the answer. How long have you two been together? Couldn't you just tell him you found the deal of a lifetime and you would like to take advantage of it? He can only say one of two things, and if it is yes, you buy the gown...if it is not yet, then you have some decisions to make. I honestly think, for your own sanity, it is time to find out what is in your future.

Good luck sweetheart,

Lizzy

For ever off and on but we have been back together and commetted for 1 year Sept. Couldn't you just tell him you found the deal of a lifetime and you would like to take advantage of it?
that is or was my plan as well as the package I found in St Thomas. His job will send him and us to Hawaii for free for a conference if he meets a quota. So he is working towards that. Could use that as a platform as well.

I know the feeling all too well!

My fiance was heading to Iraq last year and even though we were already living together ... I told him it would be a lot easier to stick it out with some bling. :-) So, a week before he left, I got it!!! Now, we are so deep into wedding planning it's hard to believe ...and although he's been gone in Iraq since June 18, 2006 -- he will be HOME next month!! And the wedding will be here before we know it. Woo-hoo!!!!smile123.gif

I didn't know your fi is in Iraq, it has had to be a hard year sad.gif. I am so glad that marriage is on the horizon for the two of you! You will both deserve it, and will NEED the vacation. Glad he is coming home you must be crawling out of your skin with anticipation!!! Now forget the wedding (not really, lol), his homecoming, now that is a reason to celebratecheer2.gifcheer2.gif

I also think you should wait. ALSO, I do not think you should be trying dresses on at all. My FH and I talked about marriage and knew it was happening and even picked a month, but until he actually proposed, I refused to try dresses on. I think that would scare the Chit out of most men. I did not want to give him any reason to back down a little. Also, its considered bad luck to try on wedding dresses before you are engaged, you need all the luck you can get right now, don't spoil it :) Oh, I am so NOT superstitious, but some things just seem like they could totally tempt fate to me and this is one of them.

  • 2 weeks later...

I say wait because it doesn't sounds like you are madly in love with this dress and feelings about dresses have a tendency to change overtime. i think if you bought it now you would just end up finding something you love later and end up looking for a buyer... a PITA!

Oh Catherine I say don't buy it, and stop looking because you will drive yourself mad (and him if he finds out). You will get married when the time is right, no need to jump the gun. The main thing is that he is there for you everyday, right? You don't need a license or a dress for that :o)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
