I had seen on-line a game called loveopoly and I thought it was neat...FI and I had agreed on a really tight budget...so I bought the game of Life and customized it to be the game of 'our life'...I changed all the career cards to be jobs we have had or would love to have. I used pics of the houses we grew up in and have lived in...and used pictures from our whole lives to cover the game board. It turned out great but have to admit it took an overwhelming amount of time!

  • 5 weeks later...

we're not exchanging gifts either because we just bought a new house, new bed & bedroom set, new car etc...so add that up with wedding costs...i think it's enough

right from our 1st day until now we always write each other really nice cards (for holidays), letters, or cute notes so i was thinking of putting them all into a special book to preserve them as 'US' before our wedding. they have been sitting in a box for years.

Well, I don't know about everyone else's FI but mine is not really a detail oriented type of guy. He is not SUPER involved in the wedding process but he does give input here and there.

He says he doesn't care about the small details, he just wants to marry me and start the rest of his life with me. (tear drop tear drop) lol

So I figured I'd get him a gift that would make him a little more excited about going down to DR to get married.

I'm surprising him with a limo to take us to the airport and then, to his ultimate surprise, we'll be flying first class. It's something we've always wanted to do but never could afford it. So what better time then our wedding to take the plunge.

After viewing this site though, I've also decided to do a BD shoot and give him the book the morning of our wedding. It's a gift for him but also a gift to myself. Just gotta hit the gym now. lol

My FI is a huge watch finatik (sp?)!! He has been having custom rings, necklaces, and earrings made for me over the past few years. So I decided to have a custom watch made for him. He loves skulls (odd i know) so they are laser etching skulls in the face of the watch, with flames that have our wedding date and initials hidden in them. Unless you knew they were there you cannot tell. This way he will never forget our wedding anniversary! :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
